Would be a massive gamble to pay over the odds for him in January. He's been looking good but it's such a small sample-size and so you can't rule out that he's just having a good run of form. I'd want to wait until at least the summer to see how consistent he can be and even then it'd be a gamble
People are talking about him as if he is in his mid-20s the kid is 20, it would be a surprise if he was consistent at that age. It would be a gamble but with so much development potential it could be worth it. When looking at players this age we should be looking at what they 'could be' not what they are already. Richarlison has a lot of potential.

He probably has a lot of potential, but nobody can ever really predict that accurately and obviously the less you've seen of someone, the less likely your predictions are to be accurate. Perhaps "consistency" is the wrong word, like you say, it's one of the traits of young players that they're inconsistent at the top level, but I mean more that I want to see how he performs over a longer period of time rather than a 6 month spell i.e. I don't mean consistent in the sense of can he perform in every single game to the same standard, I mean consistent in the sense of can he carry on playing like he has done for an extended period of time. There are plenty of player who have a good 6 months, or even a good season, so I'd be apprehensive about paying well over the odds for him on the back of this relatively short period where he's being hyped up. It would be a huge gamble. Therefore for me he's one we should be keeping an eye on but paying the no doubt massive fee to get him in January at the height of his hype probably isn't worth the risk IMO

They're both shit finishers. Richarlison is young enough to be taught.

Is that right ? I thought you could finish or you couldn’t it is a natural instinctive thing. Sissoko for instance can’t finish no matter how hard he is coached at it.

I'm no coach but I would have thought finishing was a technical aspect that could be coached to a certain degree.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

The watford owners basically run clubs as cattle markets and just want returns on their investments if the money is good they would deal IMO.

Not saying that would be us though

Of course you can be coached to finish. Kane has said, and others have said about him, that he worked on that aspect of his game tirelessly, and that's why he more often than not hits it low and in the corner. I agree that some players are naturally better than others, but clearly it is a technical skill, just like taking free kicks or whatever.

I haven't seen enough of Richarlison to be sitting here saying I want him over Zaha but what I would say about Wilf is that I'm still not sold on him even though he's been apparently so good for Palace this season.

My issue with Zaha is that he looks like he wants as many touches of the ball as possible before he finally decides to shoot or pass/cross. It's like the concept of having just 1 or 2 touches is alien to him and I fear that on a quick break he'd be holding onto the ball too long. He's a super skilful, quick winger but I see a selfish mindset in his play and I'm not sure if he'd be able to shake that and become more of a team player with us. Don't get me wrong, you want your flair players to beat their man and make an impact so in that sense I'm sure he'd be good, I'm just wary of his final decision.

Richarlison looks similar to me in that sense but he is younger and could be more coachable in that sense. The best wingers of this type are the ones that beat their man repeatedly in a game but then make the right decision when it comes to passing or shooting, that's what we need. Pace and trickery is great but I think it's less about that and more about being smart and I think Poch himself has alluded to this recently when asked about buying quick players.

Watford aren't going to sell for less than £40m, not in the current transfer market

So I guess it comes down to how much Poch wants him

Until last summer I'd have said there was no way Levy would spend that sort of cash, but then we signed Davinson

So who knows?

Don’t see much him in tbh. No great pace or dribbling ability, which are facets we lack.

He is good at getting himself in goal scoring positions but Dempsey was good at that and I wouldn’t want him back

I’ve seen a bit of him, and he looks a very strong runner and tricky dribbler to me.

If anything, it’s his end product that’s lacking. Pretty much the polar opposite of Dempsey in that respect.

Pitty we did not have the wit to sign him before he went to Watford.
I mentioned before that we were keen, but through the Watford owners tying up a lot of talent coming out of those regions, it was nigh on impossible to deal.

Very impressive considering he's new to the league, culture etc. Young and with time to improve. Misses an awful lot of chances though

Richarlison is by far and away Watfords best player. He's the one that makes the difference for them in games.Already a very exciting prospect but has missed so many great chances

If he can improve that part of his game we'll get ourselves a fantastic young and dynamic player which will be a great asset for our squad/team

We were hoping that N'Jie/GNK would be this type of player (which we do need) but clearly not!!!

To a certain degree. But being a top striker is more than just finishing ability - it's an instinct of knowing where to run to, perseverance when things don't go your way, playing to your and the team's strengths and probably luck.

He's not a striker though is he?

Like I've said before he's played non stop for a year. I don't think Watford will see the best of him till next summer once he's had a rest. He's already looking a bit knackered over the last few weeks.
