He misquoted himself. What he meant was why promote a striker from the reserves when you can just buy one for 50million?

No he has £50m in reserve. That’s why he can justify using his reserves.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

The thread title seems redundant at the moment. Not much to laugh about with City.

I beg to differ, not a single trophy that they may “win” will count in my eyes. Their supporters should take no pride whatsoever in any win that they may achieve from winning the lottery.

Yeah, I get it from that point of view but results wise, there isn't much to laugh at. Ok, they drew today but it doesn't mean much.

Agreed, although Sterling's miss of the season and today's result was pretty funny. And of course if they ever enforce FFP this thread will be gold .

You have to keep on rebuilding your squad. Espcially if a manager leaves.
They have grown to a massive club but nothing lasts forever.

Sure, but it's not going affect them for a number of years.

It won't matter now, they have their squad.

True. I take comfort from the fact that they at least play entertaining football and i'd rather see them do well than Arsenal, Yanited, Pool or Chelsea. Can you imagine how disgusting it would have been if the nation of Qatar had decided to invest in West Ham instead?

Neville said

"If you're a youth team manager at Manchester City, ring him up and ask which kid deserves that boost. Who has been playing well this season and who has worked hard?”

If you’re the youth team manager, why are you asking Pep?

Pathetic Pep. He only has interest in buying success instead of promoting youths.

And Sancho knew it.

City youth prospects should be heading for the hills
Like Chelsea's already have?
Whats the fecking point of stealing nearly every decent youth player in the country win the youth cup countless times then ignore them. For Instance?.. Loftus cheek should be on a par at very least with deli Ali.

It was just their moneyball modality, place enough money in the youth teams, that you can loan and sell to buy first teamers, and avoid FFP effectively.

Think we should try to match them for every key youngster now, we should get a fair amount of them, based on a perceived path to the first team here (though the youth watchers largely disagree that there is a coherent one).

Just watching the City highlights.

First thing Basil had great chances easily made. Secondly how much was the ref paid not to give that penalty??
