@RichieS
I can read the TR section but am banned from posting. If you have a look at the beginning of this thread I flagged Malcom up at the start of the season as catching the eye in his first few games. My feeling on him now, having seen bits and bobs over half a season is that he is definitely a lively fucker with good feet, but I still haven't seen enough to know if he's the real deal or another Boufal type (a player who looks great on youtube reels, but watch him over 90 minutes and he's less impressive). I think he's probably a bit more productive and consistent than Boufal.

And for the record (@jonathanhotspur ) Trippier is better than Walker - but only in the opponents half, not ours.
BC tell me you are watching live and not in BC-time.

Fekir has really stepped up this year. Obviously last season he was still getting over a serious injury and working his way back, but now the real deal. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Barca, Real or PSG buy him in the summer.

My love affair with Fekir goes back a few years, unfortunately I think he's almost out of our range now, but I actually think he'd be better at a club like us than one of the uber clubs. If we were to cash in on Alli, he'd be ideal to fill that void. But I can't see us going for him unless something drastic like that happened. His price has probably doubled in the last 8 months and so has the quality of his suitors.

I just posted this in another thread, but another player who's really stepped up the last couple of years is Thauvin, the boy has really buckled down, is consistently performing, works hard off the ball, and produces the goods (last season 16 goals 8 assists and 8 and 6 this season so far). He's very, very similar in style to Lamela, so probably not for us, but I'll be amazed if he's still with Marseille net season, although they are under new ownership now, who may offer him serious dough to stick around, and he does love the club I think.

Haven’t seen much of Thauvin this year. Always found him very one paced. Mind you it’s never stopped Eriksen being effective.

He's never really been about pace, he's almost identical in his game to Lamela, but whereas a couple of years ago I'd have said Lamela was the better bet to develop on, Thauvin has probably nudged ahead of Lamela in his development now, he's really impressed me last 18 months.

I would definitely have preferred a punt on Malcom at 45m than Moura at 30-35m. Would have preferred Fekir to both.

Firstly, Lucas is apparently costing £23m. Secondly, it seems we want both Malcom and Lucas.

Thirdly, that would mean we definitely won't have the money for Fekir*.

And even more worrying is still no sign of a decent CM/8.

I think if Fekir was a possibility we’d be into it, but he’s gone on to the next level of transfer in the summer. Expect one of the moneybags clubs to go in deep for him, especially if he forces his way into the French team at the WC.

26 minutes into the Bordeaux/Lyon game. Malcom's been playing well, but an absolutely shocking dive to win a pen (atrocious refereeing decision as well).

As ever, Genisio's lack of any clear footballing philosophy has cost Lyon dear.

How long has he been in charge of them? French Harry Redknapp, is he?

Couple of years. He was youth team/assistent coach for a few years then was given the first team gig by default after the last guy was sacked.

He inherited some good players and Lyon have a cracking academy as well, but he just has no discernable philosophy at all, as a result a really talented Lyon can look so ordinary and insipid at times.

Mentioned him a few times lately but Mendy (Lyon LB) put in a lovely ball for their second gaol tonight.

How was the match with Monaco? Only saw Keita’s goal on Twitter.

Bonkers really. Lyon go 2-0 and are playing well, out of nothing they allow Monaco to get two back, then Balde gets stupidly sent off just before half time. Lyon dominate the second half but don’t really look like scoring and Monaco skank a goal right at the death to win it.

Seriously, I guess we could do a shitload worse for 25m. (And we have.) Moura is kind of the intermediary version of players Poch keeps trying to sign, and he think he’s much better value than Zaha for example, I just question the logic of continually pursuing this “type”.
