I think the problem is that some of them really bought into all the 'next level' bullshit that the owners have sold them, they think that because they have a 60k seater stadium and are the 13th wealthiest club in europe (that's a guess but I think I'm close), they should be up there punching with the clubs at the top of the league.
No doubt they know they're in a shitty position right now but when they sacked Bilic, one of them who I work with was seriously thinking they would get Ancelotti or Simeone in as manager! I nearly shit myself laughing!
At the beginning of the season there were some of them tweeting that with us playing at Wembley this season, there was a real chance that they could finish above us this year, It's just delusional really.

Maybe it's just the few I know and I shouldn't judge them all by that, but that's my experience of them.

What’s the general age of these guys?

That surprises me. I come from West Ham country. My brother, neighbours and most of my friends are West Ham fans and they are all under no illusions that they’re anything but total shit.
Yeh same here with my West Ham mates.
They all are fully aware they’re shit and have a gallows humour about it

Seems loads of Whammers blame the board for not spending any money.

Thing is, they have. The fee and wages for Arnautovic, the fee and wages for Hernandez, Hart's wages, Carroll, Zabaleta's wages, various loan fees for Tore/Joao Mario and Zaza. They have spent money, but they've wasted it and are no further forward.

In my experience it's the younger ones who have these delusions, 20s and 30s, the self deprecating few that I know are older.

Yeah that's what I suspected. All the West Ham fans I know are late 30's and older.

Obiang out for the rest of the season, so this is where their January recruits will come in handy?
Big player for them & they'll miss him. They couldn't plummet & get relegated could they? Can't see it myself, as beautiful a senario it is

Good to see the Olympic Stadium put to full use. It is now being used to train astronauts as it is a total atmosphere void.

Did I hear there's going to be another international athletic comp in July? I wonder if they'll have to play their first few games in the championship away?

Put a cheeky fiver on them at 12/1 a few weeks ago (think they've shortened to 6/1 now).

Their run in is terrible (still have to play all of the top 8 except us) and they're in the middle of an injury crisis at the moment so anything's possible

Yeah I'd agree with that. I know a couple of blokes who are West Ham and they're pretty realistic about it all, but their kids are in their 20s and come out with all kinds of shit about how Nobel should be in the England team etc. Just ridiculous.

They're only three points above the drop zone. They could easily slip into the bottom three.

Well the one positive if they do manage to stay up is that I think they will need to get results against some of our top 4 rivals in order to stand a chance.

But I mean....what a horrible situation......

For us, we might have to cheer them on:sick:

Linked with Patrice Evra

He's 36

In a Europa League tie in November, Patrice Evra was sent off before the game had even started for kicking one of his own fans in the head. He was subsequently banned from all UEFA competitions until June 2018.

As European campaigns go though, it's still more successful than anything West Ham have managed this century.
