Interesting listening to Rooney on MNF. About going to places like Anfield and the Bridge and winning ugly. “If you try and play out from back in the first 30 mins you’re gonna be in trouble”.

Thanks for the advice wazza!

Why don't you stop fucking prostitutes and being a fat shit and then we will have both helped each other out?

Asked if he needed a trophy, Pochettino said:

“No, I don’t feel that. Of course, the intention and desire is to win but I am not obsessed to win, win, win, win. We need a strong team and a winning mentality.

“For that you need time. You never know, in one, two, three or five years. We are in a good place, waiting for the new stadium, which will be an amazing thing or us, the fans and the club.

“With the facilities we have to work with, if everything continues in this way then Tottenham will be one of the contenders to win trophies. We want to win a trophy because I did it as a player and I know how you feel afterwards.”

"Look, there are a lot of positives from Dele. Of course, he's not perfect. Nobody is perfect. He is a clever boy. He is a little bit nasty. The problem today is about more than this type of situation: I am worried that we are going to change the game that we know, how we know football.
"Football is a creative sport, in which you need the talent that grows in a very intelligent person, and a very smart brain. And now we are so focused on minimal details.

Mauricio Pochettino said:
"Football is about trying to trick your opponent - yes or no? Tactics – what does ‘tactic’ mean? When you do tactics, it is to try to trick the opponent. You play on the right, but you finish on the left. Twenty years ago, thirty years ago, we all congratulated a player when he tricks the referee like this. That is the football that I was in love with when I was a child. Yes, in Argentina, but in England too. You believe that in England you were honest and always perfect?"

So has he been taken out of context here? I for one dont mind a player drawing a foul from an opponent but Poch distinctly says about tricking the ref?

I think he is being honest and all current managers and players would agree with him. Doesn't make him right. It's cheating.

Agree with Poch in a way. Diving has become this crazy taboo in England which is seen as a completely despicable act, almost treated worse than awful tackles a lot of the time. It’s against the rules, it gets punished. That’s enough. It’s not a vile evil that’s ‘ruining the game’, and players who dive aren’t morally reprehensible.

Love Poch obviously, but I'm not too comfortable about this comment either. Have to remember he's Argentinian and their football hero was a cheat.

Even if he's been taken out of context I don't think it's the smartest move by him either.

Agreed and I think a few people being agahst at this comment are a bit head up their own bums about football. So much happens on the pitch that you could call "cheating". Players yapping insults at each other, sly jabs, "accidental" trips, tactical fouls, throwing the ball away on free kicks/throw ins, the list goes on and on. To him all of that is football and part of what he loves and I think whether we admit it or not the game we love as well. If you start micromanaging evsry bit of that then the game loses its passion. It's just robots peforming preset algorithms and seeing who coded better.

Agree with the last bit. It’s certainly not a way of thinking he should be open about to the English press.

Re the diving comments. Poch is just being honest. He's saying everyone does it but the English have a thing about saying we don't. And he's right. Owen, Shearer, Gerrard, Rooney, Rashford, Young, Dele etc, etc. have all been known to take a dive for the team. English players have been 'diving' for at least 20 years and probably longer. We get all sanctimonious about it and go into denial because it doesn't fit with our vision of ourselves as above all forms of cheating and corruption but it's time to accept it's as much a part of our national game as anyone else's.
