He even admitted himself it wasn't a pen in the cup final as the defender played the ball......

I still don't get how anyone can call the Kane one a dive, he had absolutely no reason to do so, he'd have rounded Karius and tapped it in the empty net, so why risk it and rely on the ref giving the penalty and himself scoring, makes no sense. Also Karius taking his feet from under him is abundantly clear.
And the keeper admitted there was contact in his post match interview.

Because they are idiots.

Both penalties were the fault of liverpool's defence and they are trying to deflect away from it. Plus they think that not beating us has wrecked their top 4 chances. They are scared. If they don't win this weekend against a southampton club that hates them and if we beat arsenal then they will proper be shitting it.

I honestly cannot believe some of their followers are still going into one over it. For Christ sake, just let it go already

Funniest thing is how he finishes his article after all the slagging off...

"On the balance of play, Liverpool probably got lucky to get a draw out of that game as Tottenham were the better side for long periods, but those late decisions from the officials left a nasty taste in the mouth."
.. .. That'll be the salt?

Independent just tweeted this (again?). It's Wednesday now:

https://www.independent.ie/sport/so...ed-out-for-what-they-are-cheats-36574934.html

HARRY Kane and Dele Alli should be called out for what they are after their antics at Anfield on Sunday - and that is cheats.

After Alli was booked (yet again) for diving in the box to try and win a penalty in the second half of a thrilling game against Liverpool, Kane got the spot kick Spurs craved as he fell over in the box under minimal contact from keeper Loris Karius.

The referee and his linesman were conned by Kane's tumble and it got worse when Erik Lamela fell to the ground like he had been shot in injury time and the assistant referee was duped into giving a second penalty.

Yeah not a great argument by John, he contradict himself.. He admits they got to the right decision by luck, so if Harry and Lamela dived how can they be the correct decision. Also he admits he would have dived himself in that occasion. Dele dived and got a booking as he should, but we have have properly lost more penalty because of his history.

i seem to remember a few of there players diving during the game.. But that's fine in his and there fans eyes.

They should just watch MoTD 2 - sums it all up there

First pen was probably a pen, but it fell into some bizarre grey-area dimension of the footballing laws

Second pen was definitely a pen

And they should bring in VAR

And also, Lawrenson was fairly sound about the whole thing...so fair play to him

Meh. If the Scousers are still obsessed with the referee's decisions then let them be. If they want to lie awake at night, unable to sleep, because they are completely preoccupied with a missed penalty, then let them be. Their sense of moral outrage will stop them from focussing on what lessons they should have learnt from the game. Firstly, they don’t seem to be fit enough. They faded badly after an hour which let us back in the game. Secondly, despite RAWK lauding his performance, Karius’s poor punch was responsible for our equaliser. Thirdly, their central defenders keep making mistakes. Lovren when his ludicrous swipe at the ball played Harry on-side for the first pen and Van Dyke for kicking Lamela up the arse in injury time. If those mistakes don’t happen, they win the game. But let them hate us if it means these mistakes continue to get swept under the carpet. It will only help us and hinder them in the long-term.

I agree with all of this except the bit about Karius's punch. Normally if you get good distance on it, which imo, he did, it doesn't get rifled back past you the way Big Vic did. 99 times out of 100, the ball ends up in row Z. I also think Can was more to blame, as he waved a leg at it and made no attempt to close down.

Anyone analysing that Vic goal need to stop, you're just over analysing. I watched in disbelief channels like Sky, ESPN, BBC etc...were analysing the Wanyama strike and were being critical of the gk's punch and the subsequent defending or 'lack of' after the punch before he scored the goal.

I mean really?

This is something that really annoys me about modern day football, too many experts, too many analysing, too much criticism and scapegoats...I mean why the entire fuck would you nit pick do much and not just enjoy the goal for what it is and move on ffs.

Can we just fashion a large hole, casually slide Liverpool and it's contents into it and cover it with dirt and possibly some dog poo?

The funny thing is, this really is the bottom dollar. Both penalties were legitimate, and caused by defensive ineptitude.

Always liked SCBCSouthampton meself - c'mon the Saints :)
