I think there is a continuum that needs to be applied for the players as to strengths

Dribbling/Shooting/Pace <----Son----Lucas----Lamela----Eriksen---->Passing/Playmaking/Chance creation for others

Obviously Eriksen excels at shooting as well and is no slouch in the running department and Lucas definitely has an eye for a pass and a through ball, but I think it helps to have a framework in mind for the situations they would excel in
From what I've seen Lucas is a better dribbler than Son, whose first touch is often atrocious.

True but Son has a good striker instinct as to what space to run into to receive the ball where I see Lucas as someone running into space with the ball

Another good performance from him yesterday, looks a great acquisition and in today's market an absolute snip at 25m. Just the type of attacker we needed.

I noticed yesterday he does seem to keep his finger on the R2 button though.

Yes but Son on evidence is the more proficient shooter and has just as much pace, if not as much acceleration as Lucas

Officially, Lucas is way out ahead, in most aspects! He is devastatingly quicker, and his acceleration from standing position is unmatchable, all with the ball glued to his feet. And I like Son

Son is bloody quick at full pace but otherwise I agree. Acceleration is just as important and Lucas appears to have excellent touch and control.

The Chemistry that this team has right now requires Son to play Over Lucas Moura so we can hopefully secure the top 4 and maybe a Trophy, but man Moura what a player and what a steal for us

I think before we start suggesting Moura is a better player than Son we see how he gets on against better opposition than a bottom of League 1 team and see if he can bang in 20 goals in a season.
Don't get me wrong I'm impressed by what I've seen so far but, like Lamela, if he actually scores and assists more than Son I'd be surprised because thats a rare thing. Also be bloody ecstatic.

Not sure his top end speed is that good, but his first yard is probably the best at the club, he will get to balls first a lot, and immediately run at defenders, which is something to look forward to.

He seemed to not only get to second balls faster than any defenders but when you thought he might take one for getting there first, he was gone, and challenges didn't get near him.

I have watched Lucas for a very good four years. He is rapid short, and long sprints. He was the fastest at PSG, unless I have missed out someone. I was absolutely very pleasantly shocked and surprised when his price dropped a good 55% from the summer.

I don’t need to wait to find out, you lot can. Son officially nowhere near the pace of Moura!

This is the whole point of a squad, we have a place in it for Son and Lucas. Son was the only 'pace' option we had, having this extra competition we either see him hit new heights for us, or he won't be up for the challenge.

Either way it will work out to the benefit of our club and that is what is most important.

Just like having Lamela fully fit, this puts a bit more pressure on Eriksen. He knows now that he has to perform as there are options on the bench chomping at the bit to get on and show their worth. It's win win.

I’m not saying he is of the same quality...but the style that he runs and attacks with the ball is very reminiscent of the likes of Hazard and Mane and co. He has a small frame that seems to just stick to the floor, and the ball is never far from his foot.

Those who were sceptical of him really will be proven wrong I feel. He is a quality quality player, just needed the fresh start. For me, Lucas would get in most front 3’s at any top 6 European side, Just unfortunately for him, the PSG situation ended up being that there were 3 A+ players that seem impossible to play ahead of!

Just watching Lucas’ ability to glide inside and outside of 2/3 players with little effort or break in stride could really unlock the deep sitting teams and give us a whole new offensive dimension!

Very pleased with his contribution straight off the bat. I would have been happy if we paid 50mill for him!

I really don't care who's faster out of him or son, just glad we have both.

A CM upgrade on sissoko and we are set.

Maybe I worded it wrong...I was saying that Son does not have Lucas's acceleration.

Is the disagreement that he comes nowhere near on flat out pace too?

To be honest I dont think Son is that quick. He just looks quick cos the rest of our squad is so slow.

But hes a good player
