Is it just me or did Groves drop him with a jab early on? Could have been a slip I suppose but he landed a really stiff jab and Eubank seemed to lose balance and his knee touched the deck...

No, you’re right. Should have been a standing 8 count

Eubank arguably went down twice during the fight. The scoring had it closer than it was. 115-113 was a ridiculous card

I saw the highlights, Jr was awful, he was like Wilder with the way he was swinging.
His father could back up the talk Jr can't, his credibility has been shot to pieces.

British boxer Scott Westgarth has died in hospital after falling ill following a light-heavyweight fight in Doncaster on Saturday.

The 31-year-old won the eliminator bout on points against Dec Spelman.

He appeared to be in pain during post-fight interviews and was then taken to hospital after falling ill backstage.

The rest of the show, headlined by Curtis Woodhouse who was due to fight in a Commonwealth light-welterweight title eliminator, was cancelled.

Ok thank you, the same time as the main card in the UFC.
Did you watch the Kell Brook fight? He looked very impressive.

Nah, had a beer or two playing internet tanks, lost track of time. I was going to grab a couple of hours kip but I know what I'm like, i'll just kill the alarm and go back to sleep, so have to power through now.

Wilder trying to look gangster but walking more like he's hiding a semi down one leg of his trousers.

Well I have to hand it to Wilder, I think he's a limited boxer but he's got a lot of heart. He fought a guy that nobody wanted to fight, who was very dangerous and beat him, KOed him. Definitely a very credible threat to AJ, should he win against Parker.

IMO Wilder got lucky, he was saved by the bell at one point, but he recovered and took advantage against a dangerous although somewhat limited (by his age) fighter who got found out by that in the latter rounds, he just didn't have it there to step it up when it was needed. I'm not sure how good Wilder actually is, I guess we'll find out when he fights someone who, with all due respect to Ortiz, is as young as Wilder and as full of vim.

Interestingly, Johnny Nelson, who's opinion I think is very sound, had Ortiz up by a couple of rounds but it seems the actual proper judges had Wilder up by a point. He might have said two judges had Wilder up by a point and one by two or three, can't remember now. Whatever, very close for much of the fight.

For a man of a relatively light 214 lbs to generate that kind of power, he's a bit of a freak. That power can definitely trouble Joshua, I've been saying for a while its whoever lands the first serious bomb wins, because there's no way wilder lets Joshua off the hook like Klitschko did. Really hope that fight happens soon.

Edit : Just looked at the odds for the fight. Joshua 2/5, wilder 7/4. Not a whole pile in it.

Wilder showed real heart out there - took all that Ortiz could throw at him and still standing was impressive.

Not sure how all three judges scored Wilder ahead by one - once again you question exactly how they merit the scoring but thankfully they weren't needed to judge this outcome.

A potential AJ-Wilder fight would be absolutely fascinating and with Wilder's unpredictability in the ring it would be supremely hard one to call.

In any case, A rejuvenated and fit Fury would likely beat both IMO but obviously that's a massive IF at this stage.

Also, good to see Brook back - him potentially fighting Spence at 154 would be a real cracker.
