Pretty sure it kicks in for the 18/19 season I.e. next season so we should be ok (if we finish 4th !)
It is next season but as someone prev said if arsenal win europa and the fifth team..poss Chelsea win champ lge the 4th team goes into europa.

I think finishing second instead of third or forth makes a difference financially next season in the champions league as percentage of the Market Pool for English Teams is distributed by finishing place.

United are guaranteed top 4 now, 9 points ahead of Chelsea. If they beat Liverpool this weekend, the Scousers are back in it. If Liverpool win, it's just us and Chelsea.

All we can do is keep doing our job and getting results. I think the top four positions might come down to the last game, it's so close. Hope we can sneak second.

Thank goodness Chelsea are away to Barca and look serious underdogs. I think alarm bells will well and truly start ringing if they get through that match.

I'm really hoping that won't be the case and Chelsea continue to slip up, will be another thing on the list of times they've fucked us over if they pip us to 4th.

I'm actually nervous about the Bournemouth game, at least they'll try and play a bit but if I'm honest I don't think we've played that greatly in the recent away games against the 'lesser' teams. The last away game to a smaller team that I think we actually played quite well in was back in December away to Burnley. Just really hope we get an early goal or at least go into half time with a lead.

I think I want a United win on Saturday, or a draw of course. If United win and we win on Sunday we'll officially be above Liverpool dropping them right back into the mix and putting the pressure on.

That’s why I’ve been saying all along we need Man U to beat Liverpool. I just think Liverpool might not be able to hack the pressure and if we beat Bournemouth then we are ahead of them. Let’s get past one team at a time.

You are correct. Not sure how it is distributed especially with us having 5 teams in the comp this year.

1st = 40%
2nd = 30%
3rd = 20%
4th = 10%

We have made about €15M more than Liverpool this year primarily based on the difference between 2nd and 4th.

As a side note, Manchester United, as the 5th team, do not get any of the broadcast revenue.

Still twenty seven points to play for so nobody is guaranteed anything yet.

Top four is done IMO, barring a major collapse with the sides currently in 2nd, 3rd and 4th I can't see Chelsea getting back in, I think it will come down to who finishes where out of us, Pool and Utd.

We have to go to Stamford Bridge, and play City whereas Chelsea don’t. United and Liverpool are probably over the line, but we definitely aren’t. A loss at Stamford Bridge means a two-point gap.

If you look at Chelsea's form since the start of the year and compare it to the teams above them I don't think they're good enough to overtake anyone in that top four.

Form can change. We all hope you are right we're just not counting chickens yet.
