We've discussed this before so I respect your opinion but honestly I don't want to read people calling poch a "school boy" or our players a "disgrace" anymore then you want to see people calling it out

People can feel as upset as they want and I understand it but why abuse players, how does that prove loyalty to the club? Why are people who call players who've obviously given everything "shameful" anymore of a fan then those that are upset, but able to take a reasoned view of it and then have to sit through pages of shit about "bottling" rather then actually discussion about the game.

If anything it seems like people were waiting for our 17 game unbeaten run to come to an end so they could be fucking negative again

Literally there's already a fucking thread up saying we've got no leaders. We were inches away taking that to extra time, are 4th in the league and finished 2nd last year but have no leaders? That's not just stupid it's factually incorrect.

Be sad but don't be ****s (not saying you personally have been)

I agree with you, personal attacks are really just people venting their emotions so I don't want to judge people to harshly here from either side, I think in the heat of the moment we are all capable of being irrational.

I think we are all just upset right now and rightfully so, I think that there is merit in the argument that we lack the ability to get over the line on occassions like this and I like to think that eventually these moments will turn for us as we grow together as a team, the only problem in modern football is that time is not something normally afforded and if we want to keep this squad together, as much as it pains me to repeat the shit the pundits do, we really do need to start winning things.

I think Poch needs to grow as a manager as well, tactically he was outwitted tonight after Juve made the changes and that's something he needs to improve upon if we ever want real success as a club.

The reason I am so personally upset tonight is because I know we are a better side than Juve, we played better than them over the two legs and we didn't deserve to go out but when push comes to shove they had that winning edge mentally when it truly counts that we really need to gain as a squad and a football club.

I agree with you, we do have leaders in the squad, that much is evident, we just need, as a squad, to drag ourselves out of games like this, by hook or by crook.

I don't think people are waiting for us to lose so they can be negative though, I think that's just emotional reactions based on how they are feeling, I mean you would have to be pretty pathetic as a supporter to want to see us fail, why would you even bother watching football?

I would agree though that some people expect failure from us and I think that's because it's been so long without any silverware, I think a lot of older supporters just want to see us get over the line, maybe even just to prove to themselves more than anything else that we have actually truly turned a corner once and for all as a club so they can let go of the anxiety of us failing when we need to make it count the most.

They can hold their heads high. I think that the team, including Poch, froze when the first goal went in.

I don’t understand the abuse I’m getting from Arsenal fans all over social media right now. It’s like they’ve waited all season for this one opportunity to stick the boot in.... they lost to fucking brighton and hove Sunday!

Anyway. I never expected to win the champions league and the main excitement was to see us against the big teams, we’ve got to play Madrid, Juve and Dortmund home and away and lost 1 game! That’s amazing
Mocking a team going out of the champions league is stuff we got involved in about 10 years ago

Tables have turned. Sign of the times

Btw, everyone saying Poch should have brought on another midfielder or brought on a defender etc. Did anyone really want us to park the bus for the last half hour? We tried to get the second goal but Juve just made lots of smart tactical fouls. Even being 1-0 up was dangerous for us as it doesn't take long to score a goal or 2.

Ita really disappointing but I can't blame Poch or the team at all, yea we made some defensive mistakes but that's football. We made some attacking ones too otherwise we would have scored more goals.

Our most important mission now is to make sure that we are playing in the CL when we move to our new stadium. We are currently on course for that and with one less (albeit by unfortunate means) obstacle/distraction now, it should make it easier for us to reach our target and hopefully, along the way, pick up an FA Cup.

Could be a blessing never thought we could have won the CL and we might have gone one more round at the cost of the FA Cup or top 4 which are within reach

One thing I was worried about was how Chelsea would fair for the rest of the season, should they lose to Barca and only have one game a week. It was a major factor for them having such good league form last season. At least we will be pretty much in the same boat now.

We have basically the same money as Juve

Therefore I was referring to them as among the best.

Last year's CL runners up and currently 2nd in the Italian league, one point behind with a game in hand.

Sorry you couldn't work that out.

What tactics did allegri change at 1-0 before they went to score their 2 goals? Did he go to 3 at the back? 3-4-3?

Fuck this being proud shite. We should have won tonight. Pissing away a lead like that in 3 minutes was appalling.

We should and could have been out of sight before half time and even early second half.

Can blame the referee for his shitbag performance all we want. He was atrocious. No idea how he only came to have 3 minutes added time when there was 5 subs at 2.5 minutes plus 23 minutes of Juve pissing around with every goal kick, throw in, free kick.

But our finishing was atrocious. So disappointed. Not proud.

I have to say and il get the negs but if we wanna be winners we need this attitude. We had this game and pissed it away, I'm not mad, it's a learning process. But this is exactly the game we need to win if we want to keep progressing.

There was no bottling. We just lost a game we didn’t deserve to for a couple of reasons. One I’ve already said and the other was not taking our chances in the first half. We paid for that.

The rest is just football. Teams win and lose. The way we kept going made me think we’d score. This team NEVER gives up. We are so far from a bottling side.
Love this

Feel numb with pain that Kane header was agony but they are wily old fox Juve a masterclass in tactics but 5/10 minutes of madness see us bow out still lots of pride in our run it's the false dawn of the first half and start of the 2nd which made me believe.

Season far from over but at this moment it just feels it like it. Psychologically wonder where we will be now but god please don't go dismantling this team in the summer best I've ever known but big players with no trophies there is usually only one one outcome Levy it may well be time to play hardball again e.g. Bale

Beating Bournemouth is an absolute must now - to not get the win on the weekend could kill all the momentum we've built up since the new year. No doubt Chelsea will win so it would lead to them breathing down our necks.

Would really have liked to have gone to 5 at the back once we scored and played for the result vs treating it like a premiership game and matched up with their formation - worked well for us in the group stages but without Toby we seemed to have abandoned it which is a shame as we would have been much tighter

Hope Poch adds a bit of pragmatism to the team going forward rather than just sticking with what’s working in the league

I've just said in the ratings thread, I think if Poch wants to continue to play that way then the main priority has to be that we are continuing to act as a unit with the high press, and the front four in particular are pulling their weight. We were getting over-run further back and that's where the mistakes were made but Juve suddenly had more of the ball and were getting out far easier.

I know its hard to keep it up for 90 mins, but Poch in most games (even the wins) is often a bit guilty of allowing things to drift in this aspect, allowing the likes of Kane and Alli etc to dial it down a bit and the press to get slack. Tonight maybe we didn't get away with that little bit of drift in our game. And as a learning exercise maybe tonight shows to be ultra vigilant, we're either pressing and putting 100% into it, or at the first signs of flagging you either make subs to replace that pressing effort or you shore up the middle of the park.
