Still disappointed with the result and kept going through things in my head overnight. I don't think we were beaten by the better team and think there are still areas we need to work on.

1. Our defence isn't as strong as it should be. We were carved open twice and they scored with both shots on target. Despite our chances, we had probably the same number of clear cut ones as them. I think this is the area we must improve with purchases. I like Sanchez and know he is only 21 but he usually makes 1 rickett a match and his and Lloris's distribution is not great. Our full backs yesterday weren't the quickest either and did get caught out a few times.

2. Too many players didn't player as well yesterday as they could. I'm thinking Dele, Dier, Dembele, Davies, Sanchez etc. Think this might be because we were outsmarted tactically.

3. Must improve our in game tactics. This is area which Poch must improve. At the start of the match, Allegri knew he had to score at least 1 goal, hence they attacked and tried to press. We scored and then at the start of the 2nd half, they knew they had to score 2. Allegri gambled and went 4 - 2 - 4 and we didn't react quick enough. After they scored they went into their shell. We can't keep playing the same way all the time.

4. Subs were a bit strange. Lamela for Dier when we needed a goal? I would've brought Llorente on as he did create a bit of havoc and won some headers but he was only on the pitch for 10 minutes.

Bloody annoyed but hopefully we learn from our mistakes.

Rant over!

He most probably is right, but it was alot closer than he appears to give us credit for.

Fine margins and all that.

Conclusion...he can feck off.
I agree we gave them a run and a tight one at that but you get the feeling that they believed they can get through with all that experience, as for us we will be better off for it for the future.
They know how to get results and defend this year we perhaps a been a little more open than we should but what a journey not losing to Madrid or Dortmund we all would have snatched someone's hand off for that at the start of the campaign.

Despite coming on here everyday I hardly ever post anything, however to those people who are saying they would swap Poch for Mourinho or Conte - Really? Is that really what you want? I would have a rethink on that if I was you.

Some people really don't realise how good we've got it at the minute.

Our in game substitutions are something we struggle with either he takes to long or it's the wrong option still they are a class side and we lost by the odd goal not too shady.

See Chiellini is playing the mental strength card,
twisting the knife somewhat.
If he means that we don't do
body-checking, fouling, trampling stamping and shirt pulling
and that means mental strength then so be it.

It's bollocks of course.
Allegri is hugely experienced at this level,
they are one of European elite now and historically.
They have veterans used to this level of intensity
and some gifted young players..
We took them on and over two
legs, but for some poor finishing could have won easily.
8 minutes in the first game and 3 in the second undid us
but I am hugely proud of our performances and progress.
Mental strength my arse
or.
'Forza mentale, il mio culo' as they say in Italy

Sick and tired of hearing the legends tag being associated with us!

It's just what happens to us now. Lose a game and we're legends. Utter horseshit.

Don't seem to recall any other team being labelled with it. Feel free to correct me on that one though.

I expect it from rival fans, I don't understand it coming from our own fans though.

Might have missed toby last night, shame he wasn't even bench fit, one of Jan's more unimpressive games

This is exactly how I feel. I think that we new they needed to score and due to this there were always spaces where we could attack. I think we assumed this would always be the case, even when it went to 1-1 and didnt change when we should have.

I've only just read the last 2 pages so did not see anyone say about wanting Mourinho or Conte but whoever does is an idiot. We also wouldn't be able to afford all the players they have to buy as neither are any good at bringing in groups of players through and improving their overall ability. Mourinho also is a whiney idiot, i could only just handle Redknapp , could you imagine having to put up with Mourinho every week and his sour looking face.

Still doesn't make sense when rival fans say it when it's just not true.

Our own fans saying it is just pathetic. On my way home from last my brother proper laid into the players for losing, saying they're bunch over paid, prima donna arseholes. I couldn't be arsed to argue with him. He's also extremely blinkered too, can't stand talking to him about football most of the time.

Of course it doesn't make sense, rival fans aren't saying it because it makes sense, they're doing it to get a reaction, which is why I can't understand our own fans saying it.

So can I just confirm....Harry Kane should be scoring more goals? Is that what you're saying? Regardless of smashing records, outscoring world class players in the prem in the last 2-3 years, that's not good enough??!! He scores goals that aren't even chances for most players.

We played well, and were beaten by a seasoned European team. I'm proud of our boys and wouldn't point the finger at any of them.

Especially not Harry.
All I said is that higuain scored his 1 chance and they are through. Kane didn't and we're out. Smashing records doesn't win us jack shit. In games like this one you get only so many chances If you don't take them...
The fact that Harry is breaking records doesn't change the fact that his conversion rate is nothing to write home about. In the prem it's 102 goals after 260 shots on target with a massive 65 big chances missed (premier league site). That means his team is providing him with magnificent service. In the CL it was 27 shots and 7 goals this season, just over 25%. In both legs he scored 1, higuain scored 3. Can that be argued?

Let me stress again I am not anti Kane But what I am, is pro Spurs. Kane is trusted to deliver when it is needed the most. He is meant to be our leader which means come through in dire times. He did neither of the two last night, regardless of how much he is cherished. It is a tough but objective truth.

Exactly - acting like petulant children because a result goes against us.

Poch has been amazing for this club and brought some staggering football.

Sometimes in football you need that bit of luck and unfortunately we didn’t have that yesterday. Make no mistake, Juve very very lucky to go through and my guess is they are out next round.

Let’s build on this and get 2nd and really go for it FA cup.

Very proud of everything at this club from top to bottom.
