If the new definition of Spursy is matching Juventus in the last 16 man for man over two legs, outplaying them and being done at the last by a team that's taken part in two of the last three Champions League Finals, then sign me up.

Despite coming on here everyday I hardly ever post anything, however to those people who are saying they would swap Poch for Mourinho or Conte - Really? Is that really what you want? I would have a rethink on that if I was you.

Some people really don't realise how good we've got it at the minute.
Agreed - you really can't just pick the bits you like when it suits( ie the seeing a game out mentality I presume). I don't believe either Conte or Mourinho would have been a success at Spurs, quite the opposite in fact. Poch is the perfect fit in my opinion.

Might not be popular, but, Chiellini is an epic defender.

He's is right as well, that we concede numerous chances per game.

He is utilising 'the secret' and it's something which does give you that little extra.

Even though I was angry at how we lost last night, I don't like hearing how poch can't get us over the line to win a trophy and should be replaced. He is a good manager and has us fitter and stronger than ever. Playing great football and teams no longer see us as a walkover. I hope he stays for a few more years.

I still firmly believe we will lift the FA cup this season.

We played well but did not get the breaks - I thought we were managing the game well but Poch got done by Allegri in the end. We didn't make changes to counter them.

We should have killed the game in the first half. We had ample chances to do so.

I wanted Wanyama on at 1-0 after an hour- I personally think we needed to plan to manage the game from that point.

The other turning points - when Alli was about to go clean through Chiellini took a yellow for his team but when Higuan turned Sanchez he let him go. In fact out defending for their second goal was appalling both tactically and in execution. Why were we pushing up when we should have dropped off? Absolute insanity when we were still set to go through!

In summary - we didn't take our chances in the first half which is on the players and we didn't manage the game in the second half which is on Poch. That being said I still thought we were the better side and good enough to win.

Also - I have a newfound dislike for Italians and their stupid high pitched voices.

Poch may have overcome Allegri if he went 5-4-1 immediately after their changes when Lichtenstein started stretching us wide.

However, if we'd have conceded anyway then there was no way back (once he set the team more defensively).

He could have gone :

--------------------------Lloris---------------------
Trippier---Sanchez--Dier---Verts---Davies
-------------Dembele-----Eriksen---------------
---------Alli-----------------------------Son--------
------------------------Kane------------------------

To see, but we were bossing them so I just cannot blame him at all.

Maybe Wanyama should have replaced Dembele who had a poor (by his recent standards) game.

I am genuinely interested in what people think Poch should have done between their first and second goals? Because I didn’t notice any massive shift in the game between minutes 60 (the subs) and 64 (the first goal).

After they made the tactical change even before the first goal, their next attack overwhelmed us in numbers and we were lucky not to concede. We should have learned from that and I think a more astute manager would have made instant changes. A tactical change for us as others have suggested to try to take the steam out of them. In the next attack they equalised. I still didnt recognise any changes. Then they went ahead and changed to make themselves more secure and shut off the spaces which killed us of ideas for a while.

rewatching that second goal, what a bloody mess!

Dier in no mans land, he should have been cleaning house in that little area ahead of sanchez and Vertonghen.

He wasn't so Sanchez goes full micahel dawson and breaks the shape of the backline racing toward the ball to which leaves a gaping hole.

And even in this situation last year kyle walkers incredible recovery pace would've delt with it, but trippier is just waddling along.

Jesus wept, we need a fit wanyama and we might need to look at RB and LB again in the summer

The main reason it really hurts is because there was a real belief - expectation even - that we would see this one through. It was a tie we controlled and dominated for large portions. The way we played for 80 min in Turin and 60 min at Wembley gave us no reason whatsoever to believe we were anything less than a match for last year's runners up. OK, people will say we weren't clinical enough, that we let them back in and ultimately let our heads drop at the critical moment. They have a point. But the bigger picture is of a team improving year on year - a team that last year looked totally lost against Monaco and Bayern Leverkusen and this year looked at home against Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus. A team that last year was unceremoniously dumped out in the group stages and this year sailed through as winners of a group no one expected us to qualify from. A club that just two years ago had only ever qualified for the Champions League once and now is disappointed to go out to a team that has made multiple finals in the last few years. Ok, so we're not going to win The Champions League this year but no one can deny that is real progress.

Some of the criticism is warranted - "We switched off at a crucial moment" "We need to adapt to other teams changes" etc
But I'm not having that criticism that "It's another hurdle this Spurs team haven't got over" as if that's it, it's the end.

Fergie's United didn't do it in season one, two or three, it took time. Rio can blab all he wants about it but he was part of a Leeds team that bottled it and jumped ship to an already hugely successful team/club, much easier to say what's required and criticise when it's come much easier to you.

Besides Poch and the team overcome these hurdles eventually;

- The end of season capitulation in 2016, we came back the season after and finished incredibly strong.
- Dortmund, Europa Cup. Took it lightly and they hammered us. Reversed that this year in a more important competition.
- CL 2016/17 campaign - we were mostly abject in a relatively easy group. 2017/18 finished top of a group containing Madrid and Dortmund, accumulating more points than any other team.

We'll continue to push it further and further, continue to get stronger and more mature, i'm pretty sure of that. I'll be more critical if we were to lose to United or Chelsea in a FA Cup semi final, that is much more of a hurdle that we "can't get over"

The first goal only came 1 or 2 minutes after Allegri’s change but I think at 1-1 Poch should have dropped Dier back and brought Wanyama on for Son or Dele. I’m sure he will learn to gage when the players are tiring and a different approach is needed.

The fall out from all this is crazy, we lost by 1 goal over 2 legs and we are getting dogs abuse.

Looking back though the one thing that sticks in my mind is ho literally as soon as they got the 2nd they went all Leicester from 2 years ago. Taking 10 years to take a throw in, walking as slow as possible to get the ball, staying down after every tackle....

We never do that. We should have been doing that from the start of the second half or at least once they scored the first. It breaks up the game and stops them getting ahead of steam like it did to us

Trippier giving up the chase is hard to swallow though, for the second goal.

Otherwise, it was a campaign to be hugely happy with, how did ManCity do in their first 3 seasons? Didn't they spend 500M+ before they started making waves, like we have.
