Only thing I will say on the matter is Poch needs to learn when and how to use his substitutes yesterday at 1-0 was when we needed to change the way we were playing it was naive and poor to concede the two goals we conceded when it should have been wrapped. At 1-0 I'd have thought Lucas and Rose on for pace on the counter but what do I know just being a supporter -_-.
Oh well hopefully the Fa cup and a top 4 finish or it's been a poor season again but I won't be saying Poch out my anger has calmed from last night.

God forbid losing to teams that are better than us at football, perish the thought.
Juventus are better than us?

Poch said we were the better team and I agree, we have a great first 11

People keep on using the excuse that we dont have a lot of money to spend but even if we did there arent too many positions we can improve on. We have one of the best first 11's in the league thanks to poch.

However yesterday, he was poor reacting to Allegri's changes

In bold is where I agree with you. His substitutions were weird to say the least.

which i was and was the whole point of my post

To be fair, with the exception of the Champions League, Pochettino has consistently prioritised the league over the cup competitions which has been reflected in his team selections and may go some way to explaining our poor knock out record under him.

Evidently yes, we may play better football than them but they are better at getting the job done.

Have to win FA Cup it’s as simple as that. Biggest threats in city and Liverpool are out. Home semi and final,we will never have a better chance. Will be hugely disappointed if we don’t win it. It’s not inconceivable that someone can be a fantastic coach and man manager but just not have the nouse to get a team over the line. We shall see.

Its not even about playing better football, we had more chances and should have scored on more than one occasion

They did get the job done but we at spurs havent got the job done for a while

it's silly that one can't make a criticism on here (and knowlespurs' was pretty fair and balanced) without it automatically being turned into Poch Out!
thanks mate, poch is 2nd only to keith b in the best managers i have seen in my 40 years of supporting, the main point is that he really seems to struggle in knock out comps, against how superb he has been in the league

Yet the funny thing is Juve had more clear cut chances than us to score over the course of the tie and a stonewall pen turned down, that's football though I guess.

I think Juve are probably one of the worst teams to face in knock out football personally, the over scrutiny of not beating a team who are absolutely notorious for shithousing their way to through knock out matches is unnecessary IMO.

He’s a good manager. It’s not down to him that we are not more clinical at converting our chances, the Arse game being another example, but we got away with that one because they are not as good as Juve.

We are definitely not close to clinical enough which remains a massive issue. Maybe next year we’ll be clinical? One can dream.

But pochettino’s standard abysmal in game management cost us again. He’s a great manager but this has been a huge weakness of his since his days at Saints and it just so happens to be an incredibly costly one.

French journo on talksport right now stating that Conte is being contacted by PSG. However their first choice is Poch.
PSG made contact with Poch/ agent in November.

Not saying Poch will leave, just that PSG are interested. now talking in detail about Conte taking over at PSG.

edit: Conte more likely to take over

FA Cup is a massive opportunity for us to put a trophy in the cabinet and get over the hurdle of winning something. It's a really important step for a young team to take and we are right on the cusp of doing it. If we can do it, it will be a great experience for us to draw on, especially in situations like last night when the 'here we go again' feeling raised it's ugly head.

We should think about adding a serial winner to the coaching staff. Fact is we don’t have one player or member of coaching staff that’s won very much. Might have odd remote league title at Ajax or PSG. Fergie added a new voice every 3 or 4 years. Can’t see it would do much harm.

Fair point about the subs but we didn't need substitutes to remedy the problem caused by the changes Allegri made, we could have adjusted with the players on the pitch, when we had the lead in a Champion's League knockout tie we shouldn't lose a goal to a player beating the offside just yards inside our half, we shouldn't be playing so high with so few players defending, I'm not sure that is all down to Poch but it is something an experienced CL team probably wouldn't have been doing.
Everyone, players and Poch will take that lesson into next year's competition, poch will bank it and use it, he's one of the best.

Both fullback positions are a clear weakness... decent players though it is the area we could upgrade
