Juve had no such trouble defending a lead... we should have dropped off and played on the break - brought Wanyama on and switched to a back 3 after an hour.

Juventus only had to defend it for 25 mins and were centimetres away from failing to do that.

We lost narrowly in a game we didn't deserve to. The more worrying thing is that it's becoming a habit of ours. You can't downplay just how much their experience got them through. Winning fouls, time wasting, killing the pace of the game. All tactics that our players aren't used to doing themselves.

We could perhaps do with adapting a more fluid system based on the circumstances but I'm not going to bash Poch for last night.

certainly don't want another english team to win it (although City wouldn't offend me as much as the others) but maybe their continued involvement will help our top 4 chances a bit? Clearly want Chelsea to go out though because of the 'nightmare scenario' previously discussed re them and Arsenal potentially stealing our place.

In the past I looked in awe at other teams players wishing we had them, now we've got truly wonderful players in our team and I look in awe at that winning edge other top sides have. It's not even small details, these are huge advantages that sides that are used to winning leagues and cups have over us no matter how great we are. If only we could somehow buy that. Just got to hope all this experience we've gotten over last few years genuinely adds up to something, we're not that young a team anymore. Win the FA cup, get that experience of winning a cup competition and see if that helps too, post season talk will be "we've got that first trophy now let's use it as a springboard for bigger things".

Could have, should have, would have...

Hindsight is 20/20, what if we'd shut up shop they'd put pressure on us for 30mins and we conceded two goals as a result of that? People would now be going on about how we invited them on

Boot on the other foot - we only had to defend for 5 minutes longer and had we conceded only 1 we still would have gone through. Poor game management given that we didn't actually need to win the match to go through.

Juve lost a 2 goal lead in the first leg by doing exactly what you wanted us to do.

And they could well concede too, from Son's shot and Kane hitting the post..

Really fine margins, come to think of it.. With better luck, we could be drawing 2-2 like against liverfool..

I think the club and us need to put the game behind us now. We’ve so much to aim for for the rest of the season. I suspect that what Poch will have told the players today. Learn from it but don’t dwell on it. We can still finish second and win the FA Cup. That would be an amazing season.

Not just an amazing season but our best season in 35 years. Personally I'd take 4th and FA cup now, which would be a fantastic achievement considering we've played every game away from home this season.

All I said is that higuain scored his 1 chance and they are through. Kane didn't and we're out. Smashing records doesn't win us jack shit. In games like this one you get only so many chances If you don't take them...
The fact that Harry is breaking records doesn't change the fact that his conversion rate is nothing to write home about. In the prem it's 102 goals after 260 shots on target with a massive 65 big chances missed (premier league site). That means his team is providing him with magnificent service. In the CL it was 27 shots and 7 goals this season, just over 25%. In both legs he scored 1, higuain scored 3. Can that be argued?

Let me stress again I am not anti Kane But what I am, is pro Spurs. Kane is trusted to deliver when it is needed the most. He is meant to be our leader which means come through in dire times. He did neither of the two last night, regardless of how much he is cherished. It is a tough but objective truth.

I am a fairly normal level headed guy, but your response is unbelievable. So scoring goals and smashing records '''wins us jack shit'? Scoring goals wins us football matches. You are aware of that? And he has won us, through scoring goals, so many matches.

As you say 102 goals. How many of them goals would other strikers score? Hardly any is the answer. I honestly cannot believe you're questioning his conversion rate. Since you mention the mighty Higuain and his conversion rate being better last night, would you rather him than Kane? Do you think he'd have scored as many as Kane in the same amount of premier league games?

Also you say he's missed 'a massive 65 big chances'. So you expect him to have scored 167 premier league goals do you?

I'm really trying to respect your opinion that you're entitled to. But it's actually ridiculous.

Harry Kane will go down as a legendary Spurs striker. I cannot believe we have a player of his caliber. Honestly I can't. I guess for you though he'll be a player who missed too many big chances and should score every opportunity.

For those who watched the game on tv, did the camera pan to any spurs in the crowd who were crying at the end of the game?

Its bloody laughable...we were only in this competition because of the ludicrous amount of goals the guy scores.

In all seriousness, this season in the PL, Danny Welbeck has a better conversion rate than Kane.....but who would you rather have in your team?

I agree with everything that you have said, however I do think we were forcing them into a lot of fouls which was allowing us to box them in and play higher up the pitch. Perhaps we were just in a false sense of security, believed that we had them rattled and frustrated, believed that we had them on the ropes which allowed complacency to creep in. This allowed them to nick a goal and then the whole complexion changed but we didn't adapt quick enough with it.

Poch and his staff need to make sure that as long as the other team are always in the game we NEVER EVER switch off, that goes for playing staff and coaches. It is the fine difference to winning trophies and not.

Only 3 weeks ago PSG had Madrid exactly where they wanted them, an away goal and looking to get another to strengthen their hand. Zidane made some attacking tweaks and Madrid instantly scored two goals to effectively kill the tie.

The point is that these big experienced teams know all to well that you can have them on the ropes but one knock-out blow can change the whole contest. Soon as we learn that and learn to change with the game, we'll start to win something.

Hopefully we can get to the final of the FA cup and we can use that lesson in the final.

Make it top three instead of fourth and I'm with you...(y)
