Cameron Carter-Vickers, once again, oozing class at the back for #itfc. Calmness personified. Makes difficult tasks look simple. I'll put this on record now - he'll play for #thfc.

Great 1st half, should've been 2 or 3 up, 2nd half we were rock solid at the back, never really looked in any trouble. Carter-Vickers absolutely class at the back #itfc

Ipswich Rojillo‏@MatchdayFeeling 2h2 hours ago
And Carter-Vickers absolutely dominant again at the back, think Spurs have a very good player for the future there #coys #itfc

Steve Clark‏@clarky_7for19 1h1 hour ago
Carter-Vickers is such a good player. Such a pity that we have absolutely zero chance of signing him. He will have a big future at Tottenham judging by current performances #itfc

Steve Mellen‏@stevemellen 1h1 hour ago
Sensational first half today, got the job done in the second. Carter Vickers looks some player #ITFC

Andy Warren‏@AndyWarren_ 1h1 hour ago
Ipswich excellent defensively, though, Carter-Vickers and Webster in particular were outstanding. #itfc

Ratings from Preston... where Carayol and Carter-Vickers stood out for #itfc

Cameron Carter-Vickers
Impressing each and every week at the moment. Is so strong, reads the game well and has exceptional positional sense. He knows where his man is, knows when to clear and when he has time and is quick to step in and win the ball. Superb. 8

Great to read, and also to keep in mind for Onomah with regards to not succeeding straight away at the first club....

In the 9 matches CCV has started for Ipswich - 5 goals conceded. 4 clean sheets, and a single goal conceded in 5 matches.

Prior to CCV, Ipswich conceded 39 in 27 league matches.

Sheffield Utd was a terrible choice on loan considering how they push their CBS forward

Carter-Vickers is just a man mountain. Nothing gets past him and he just oozes class. Defence just looks so much more solid with him in it. Would love it if we could get him beyond this season #itfc

#itfc's
balanced back three looking good again. Cameron Carter-Vickers again top class. Switch to the 3-4-3 system we saw against Cardiff/Preston an option. Spence appears to be coming on.

Carter-Vickers is so strong doesn't ever seem to lose a 50/50, been really impressed with him can't understand why Sheffield United would send him back! However there loss is out gain! #itfc

Went to Ipswich today. Cameron Carter Vickers was very good at the back. If Spurs don’t want him we’ll keep him.

Carter Vickers excellent again but a poor day if you are in Ipswich Town midfielder

Cameron Carter-Vickers

Was playing against the side he represented during the first half of the campaign and, not for the first time, was the Blues’ stand-out player. The Tottenham youngster showed just why Mick McCarthy would like to be at the front of the queue to retain him for next season as he once again read the game superbly, was positionally excellent and looked as composed as any Ipswich player on the ball. 8

Which is a concern for us, no?
While it would be interesting to see how his passing is getting along, I don't think its too much of an issue if one of our two/three hotels is a pure, out and out defender. Might just make us a touch more solid in crunch situations (very much thinking of Chiellini and Juve in our previous match. Not to say CCV is the next Chiellini!)

Great to hear he's doing well. Loads of potential. Hopefully working hard on his acceleration and agility, as there's a player there.

Great to hear that he's doing well. I believe the Sheffield United boss at some point questioned CCV's mentality. It is really refreshing to see that even though the Shefflied Utd loan was cut short, he's playing even better and gaining more experience.

Starting tonight for US National Team v. Paraguay

Yes. He started with familiar faces in the Back line. The CB partner from US U21 games and Yedlin on his right. Can't evaluate how he did, but he looked more comfortable. He got Yellow for Shoulder-to-Shoulder on a forward, but I think the foul was because he plays in a more physical league in UK. I've had more contact walking a busy sidewalk than CCV did to this guy.

But overall, meh.

You seem alone on the meh. Got rave reviews on twitter, virtually every comment is positive.

I’m still really hopeful on this guy especially after his current and recent loan spells. Sounds like he’s doing very well at Ipswich and even Sheffield Utd was ok, although finished strangely and had one or two poor performances.

My reservations have always been his height, but there have been quality centre backs that are shorter (Poch isn’t exactly a man mountain) and that he looks a bit heavy legged and slow on the turn, but you could label the same criticism at Toby and some people on here talk about him like he’s the best centre back in the world.

Some players progress massively in their early 20’s so I retain hope. Think the best thing for him is games though, so hopefully a pre season with us followed by a loan to a premier league club next year or failing that a whole season at Ipswich.

Loan him to a prem side next year who have similar values to us in their use of the ball (Swansea if they stay up would be my choice), let him learn top flight football while Sanchez gets another year under his belt, then recall him in 2019 when he’s developed just in time to take a departing Alderweireld’s spot.

Since they played in my neck of the woods I got to watch him and he was quite close to me the first half. Miazga was clearly the more vocal one and organized the back line with CCV deputizing some on set pieces. The yellow was quite comically soft but at that point the ref had lost a bit of control of the game and probably assumed something more malicious happened after a series of cheap fouls by Paraguay.

They hardly challenged the US line except from set pieces. His ball control was solid as was his short range passing. His long range passes mostly failed. Overall a good performance and he has improved quite a lot since the last time I saw him. Still seems a far stretch from Spurs quality. I could see him stepping up to a lower PL loan next season if that is on the cards.
