Quite. Harry even tried to offload him at one point so it’s hardly as if we had unwavering faith in him anyway.

Some people have a warped view that anyone who’s any good must stay put forever, unless they are being signed by us from a different club, in which case they should obviously leave.

If being a manager was purely down to coaching players and tactics Arry wouldn't have gotten a job in the conference(he is piss poor tbh). So yeah that's hardly a surprise that Arry thought that way in Bales early career, It's why he always tried to buy experienced players over up and comers, as they didn't need to be coached as much. What Harry was good at was keeping thins simple and making the players believe in themselves to get the best out of them Bale needed coaching.

Decent article on Bale:

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...-manchester-united-city-chelsea-a8223816.html

Basically says he's made himself into a bit of a recluse in Spain. Despite being there for 5 years he can't speak the language, and it's impacting on his role in the squad. The Independent quote one of the Madrid journos:

“Bale plays matches how he lives; isolated in his own world, distant,” wrote Carlos Carpio in Thursday’s Marca during a fairly brutal deconstruction of the Welshman. Languages are a problem, sure, but it goes deeper than that. Off the field, Bale is seen by many around the club as almost reclusive who obsesses over golf and has given up serious efforts to integrate. Even on Wales duty teammates note he has become a little detached."

He does look very odd when he plays for Madrid. Just wanders around seemingly not part of any collective movement. What with the injuries I sadly think we should steer well clear.

Another reason for Harry Kane not to go to Spain. Harry loves his golf and he will want to play and get criticised for it.

He didn't think he was too good for us, he was too good for us and he had the opportunity to go to Real Madrid which was an ambition of his.
You should try not to take it so personally.
I didn’t take it personally, as I am not Tottenham Hotspur. Thanks for the condescending advice though.

Apart from the La ligs title Spanish Cup and the little matterr of 3 Champions League I never understood why he broke up with us - no gratitude!!
And now we have Harry Kane.

I will always pick Tottenham Hotspur over Gareth Bale, or any one player.

I sure of we offered him 150k a week his family wouldn't starve

Why would he give up all that money to leave the biggest club in the world? Most likely he'll back himself to get back in their side and stay, even if they try and get rid of him.

But why would he take a pay cut of £10.4m per year to come to Spurs?

It would objectively be a step down for him, he isn't a Tottenham fan, he isn't a local lad, he didn't come through our academy, and aside from us being the club at which he made his name, he has no connection to us.

Because this thread is like 0.000001% logic and the rest just rampant fantasy gone wild.

Life isn’t purely about money. He’s got more cash than he’s ever gonna need. He doesn’t strike me as the type of person who wants flashy personal possessions and showing it off. Maybe he wants to come back to spurs. And play In the new stadium j see a progressive manager and help us win the league. That’s much better than being parachuted into a club that is pretty certain of winning most things. It’s not beyond the realms of possibilities.

It's amazing how bad his injuries have been. I wonder if it's because he's bulked so much and his body can't handle it somehow? He may be related to Anderton

"However, Diario Gol claim Bale is still weeks away from making a final decision and could still change his mind."
So in other words all of this is probably untrue and simply Spurs click bait.

Ugh...this needs to die

What is your reasoning for this statement?

Is it that you are saying:

a) You wouldn’t want Bale back?
b) You think it’s impossible to get him?
c) Both?

Anyone who wouldn’t want Bale back is off their heads. He is world-class. Despite the injuries, he would be our highest profile signing of all time.

I think it would possibly even me a milestone in our history as the moment when we confirmed our place amongst the elite.

I am dreaming, as I don’t think it’s financially possible, but I would love him back at Spurs.
