It is. I can’t seem them beating Real or Bayern, I’m not even sure they’ll beat Roma over two legs

Both Real and Bayern have proven to not be all that this season... I really hope Roma eliminates them or I can see them being CL champs for the sixth time.

But I really think Roma will shit on them. Roma is a very good side, and in the 4-1 loss at Barcelona, they got two clear penalties waved off by the ref. Hope Roma goes all the way!

Rewind to 2012:
Why, has Di Matteo taken over at Liverpool, focusing all the ire the squad had for AVB into team spirit? No, he hasn’t.

A week is a long time in football, six seasons is an eternity. Real still always turn up when it’s required and Heynckes already has had the measure of Kloop on multiple occasions.

Opposition fans have been waiting for years for Kane to do something even slightly controversial. This innocuous incident, admist the craziest week in European football for years, has somehow managed to grab more headlines than everything else. Just goes to show that football is so damn tribal and fans almost love to stick it to other teams more than actually enjoy their own.

True. When Kane scores in the World Cup, I hope he celebrates by going up to each England supporter who isn’t wearing a Spurs related item and sticking his middle finger up & shouting ‘YOU DON’T DESERVE ME YOU ****’!

It might take a while and he might be sent off and spoken about on social media for a while.... but it’d be worth it.

They lampooned dean on soccer AM ffs
No other team gets fucking shit like we do I swear

Soccer am...? That's made for ten year olds but you're dead right about seemingly attracting more shit than any other club in the EPL. Been that way for a while.

A real eye opener for me (and I'm not sure how this is related to the thread but I'll throw it in anyway...) was watching something I recorded a while back on Sky, about goals in the North London Derby matches down the years. Some wonderful memories of course, but only a few years ago, I couldn't have watched them scoring so many goals against us without putting my foot through the screen.

But now, with who and what we are right now, with a wonderful boss in charge, a great Chairman, a brilliant squad of players, a world class training facility already in place, and a fantastic new stadium on the near horizon, not to mention getting so many lovely complimentary comments from all and sundry about us and how we are one of the best run teams and clubs in the country... I didn't give a flying crap.

It only reminded me how far we've come since the bad old days. I thought to myself, that neither Arsenal, Chelsea or anyone else are even able to make any negative comments about us and that in itself must be absolutely killing them.

Oh yes they can (said as if at a pantomime ) and do. They just can't justify their negative comments! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Yep they (soccer AM) spent the whole episode with a mike Dean lookalike celebrating like a madman every time they showed a Tottenham goal sort of like a meme
I mean it was funny I spose but I can remember thinking fuck me that's the last time we get anything from that bald headed ****.
Not that I'm bitter
And as you can see there was clearly nothing in it whatsoever

Am I the only one who can't belive how big this thing grew? Everyone is talking about that. And I really have no fucking idea why. He felt he touched it, he appeald because he wants third in row golden boot. Is it really that unbelievable? Really, if that happend for Salah or any other player, I wouldn't give a shit about it.

What the fuck is going on. No, seriously, what the fuck...

Couldn't agree more, what I found stranger than the reaction from rivals fans was the fact that some our own fans were angry and embarrassed about it.
It's really fucking odd.

It seems to be a result of a double dip(pers).......they have a real chip on their shoulder about us at the moment and are having a pop about just about anything that they consider to be wrong, and this has crossed with the fact they see it as a direct assault on one of their players (victim mentality)........they're a bit like the Borg, but whereas the Borg have a collective intelligence, Liverpool fans seem to have a collective lack of intelligence - shake one about and I swear you can hear the group brain cell rattle.

Welcome to the internet era.

Everything you say and do will be scrutinised to ridiculous levels with most of the discussion being purely hypothetical.

Everything will be blown out of proportion and remembered and quoted forever.

Liverpool fans and pundits are hugely over populated in the media. Any act that might unsettle their ambitions will be challenged.

As a club and fans we'll have to have much thicker skin because we are now in the mix.

Selected responses from the Brighton match thread, which is entitled "Is beating Spurs at home that far fetched?"

"Yes. Beat Spurs at home on Tuesday, and I'll take my football boots to the home game against United and streak"

A better question would be "will Spurs need to break into a sweat in order to humiliate the Albion?"

Not so confident, then. Is there any hope?

"We have always viewed these fixtures against top teams as unwinnable, but we did beat Arsenal this season didn't we?"

The flaw in this logic, however, is pointed out by many

"Interesting use of the words 'top team'."

"Arsenal are a shadow of the team that Spurs is."

"Spuds 10 away wins already. Light years ahead of this awful Arsenal squad."

So, any other hope? Can they look to their last performance against us for any succour?

"Remember we played pretty well against Spurs at Wembley who only took the lead via a freak goal from their full back from the touchline. Also Harry Kane did not score and their clinching goal came right at the end. Repeat and who knows."

Again. however, there's a pretty obvious flaw in the logic of this post, which is pointed out by the following poster

"Repeat and we get nil points" (y)

So, any hope at all? Well, yes and no, if this exchange is anything to go by...

"We are capable of getting something from the game imo"

"Yes, a sound thrashing"

Indeed, the only hope they can muster is that we'll rest lots of players in advance of the semi. Yet even then they're concerned that they've rotated so little that their players just have nothing left to give three days after a derby. That's best summed up by this post.

"The only way the Albion will get anything from the game is if Spurs rest all their first team squad, under 23's, and under 18's .... and play with Gary Mabbutt at centre back, although I'm fairly sure even he'll still have a yard of pace on Murray."

:D

If my mate (Liverpool fan) is anything to go by it’s because, in his view, Kane clearly didn’t touch it so he is therefore blatantly lying.

I find it quite amusing.

I love the pessimism of some fans. It takes me back to the vast majority of my spurs supporting life. In some ways, I miss that point of view. Expecting to win still feels weird. Plus, it has made many spurs fans far too serious!
