I think some of you might be a little disappointed by the reality of Moura. He's a dribbler and that can often get an ooh, especially in these 20 minute cameos, but his decision making can be a bit hit and miss and that is more apparent when he starts games.

He's not shit or anything, but from post match comments Saturday, I get the impression some on here think he's a bit Neymar.

Moura isnt Neymar. He isnt a great player. He is a talented player. He is a player that can take the ball and do something with it.
He isnt a player who drifts in and out of a game,he is IN it. He has more control than Son and makes better choices than Lamela on the dribbling side.

He runs into trouble a lot. Hus flicks are good. He has been with us a long time and he is better, much better, tgan he was but he is no game changer and doesnt put his stamp on a game.
He us umportant for his niggly pressing and for his flicks hete and there but ftom a control point if view he doesnt control too much.
If he did maybe he would be a serious factor but up to now he is overall a good player far from a great one.
I can’t agree with that, Lamela always puts his stamp on the game. I just hope he can become more incisive, clinical and quick-thinking. He’s never going to be a David Silva, but I think he can definitely improve in that regard.

Although I think we have a really settled team which is achieving great things, I also think it needs a freshen up sometimes. I have to say I thought we played some more exciting football when Kane was injured recently. That is not to denigrate HK, nor to put the blame on him for what, at times, have been some performances where we have totally ‘controlled’ games but without generating a lot of exciting attacking moments (a la Citeh, dare I say it).

But, but...the forced change where we played Son as the 9 created some great free-flowing football. When I’ve seen Moura, briefly, I get the impression that he is someone who is always on the move when the ball is near him...looking to receive the ball, travel with it, pass it off and then receive it back. In short, I think he’d speed up our transitional attacking play a lot which is something we’re lacking.

You know it's possible to be positive and not delusional at the same time right? It's not binary, despite everything seeming to have to be these days. There is a spectrum between rubbish and Neymar...

Where does he come to Davud Silva
He is more like Christiano Ronaldo without well..most of what Ronaldo can do

Moura is somewhere between rubbish and Neymar but much closer to Neymar. Is that delusional?

RF When Harry was injured it msde us more fluid with players darting all over the place. There was no point man to hit so the lads made up for it in creativity.
In packed boxes its always difficult to get the ball to HK and often Harry has come back a bit to retrieve it.

Even with decision making (which can be improved), he is at the least an unpredictable player who can manoeuvre with the ball while running at pace, that is a skill set which we have needed for a while in my opinion.

It's only a valuable/viable skill set when he makes an intelligent decision at the end of it.

If his dribbling is the result of pulling defenders out of position which frees up other players like Zaha does then it's a valuable skill set

Often weve had a hard time with packed defences..pulling a man would help open them up in a more direct way

Agreed, but the more opportunities he has to make an intelligent decision (having found himself in a threatening area because of his skill and pace), the more times he will make an intelligent decision. He may not have Eriksen levels of reliability in that respect, but from what I’ve seen he’s better at it than Lamela and no worse than Son.

If Raheem Sterling can be first choice in a Guardiola side, then Moura can be very good for us. Coaching and system as ever will play a part.

I’m more than happy for him to have the odd cameo off the bench between now and the end of the season.

We’re a well oiled machine that don’t lose many games and he was always going to need time to get up to speed anyway.

Obviously if any of Lamela, Eriksen, Alli or Son get injured then he can get a start or 2 but I don’t see the rush, personally. Will be great when he gets a pre season in the summer.
