What sort of fanbase needs to be told 'please dont throw bricks at the other teams bus' ?

It's a 'grandfathers rights' thing.

The bad old days of the early 1970's involved away supporters - including Tottenham fans and yours truly being 'escorted' by plenty of Liverpool police with long sticks alongside the Scotland Road tenements and getting bricked by the local scallies from all sides with occasional stabbings and forced removal of clothing such as leather jackets, sheepskins or wallets while the erstwhile police escorts would enjoy the occasion shouting 'fuck off you cockney wankers/bastards'

I've got to say they were brilliant last night....until Salah went off. Once he was substituted they fell apart.

I see good 'ol Lawro is coming off with some guff, saying them beating Roma was "unlike any football he's ever witnessed" and "not the sort of scoreline you see in a Champions League semi final".

Maybe someone should remind him of how Bayern absolutely destroyed a Barca side who were in their pomp 7-0 on aggregate a mere 5 seasons ago funnily enough in the semi final, or the time Man Utd beat a Roma side 7-1 at OT (8-3 on agg) who were at that time more competitive in Serie A than the current side - short memory that one, the fuckin nonce - but then he has got Liverpool on a 4 season unbeaten streak in his league predictor I suppose so to be expected perhaps.

Early goal next week please Roma and hopefully Liverpool, Klopp, Lawro et al absolutely shit the bed.

It’s hard to compliment Liverpool because of the way their fans and (some of their) players have been this season. They were excellent last night and if we’d gone 5-0 up at home in a semi like that, we’d be rightly crowing about it so I’m not surprised by the media reaction... BUT....

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more incompetent opposition who genuinely defended like it was their first ever performance together. They made it so easy for Liverpool to score at least 3 or 4 of those goals. It was an embarrassing performance from Roma and they got lucky at the end to get those 2 goals.

Also, their fans. Ugh. Anyone can make noise in a CL semi. How about not setting flares off everywhere, not continuously fighting opposition fans, not sitting on top of police vehicles etc. Still, today, one day after winning a CL semi, they’re STILL going on about Kane and how shit he is and a cheat etc. Facebook had a link to ‘Liverpool Pro’ site or something earlier so I looked on it and almost every single comment was about how much of a cheating pair of diving ****s Kane & Dele are and what a scummy club we are. There were hundreds of posts. They’ve genuinely forgotten about Suarez and Gerrard and Mane and the T Shirts and the racism and Heysel and the Man City coach etc etc etc etc. They want everyone to believe they’re the classiest of clubs but in fact that’s so far from the truth it’s a joke. I know every club has their share of idiotic fans but fuck me Liverpool are doing their best to show the world that they’re top of that list.

The victim mentality and the self entitlement at the club is ridiculously embarrassing. I can’t see it because they’re playing so well but nothing would please me more than for them to fall short in the CL and I’d even rather Chelsea took their place in 4th. And I fucking hate Chelsea. Would absolutely love them not qualifying for CL next season.

I agree with you on that. It would be hilarious.

Ox out for 9 months apparantly shame for World Cup but massive blow for pool. With the front 3 Keita ox new DM they’d have had great 1st xi. But now Keita effectively replaces OX. They will still have to replace Can. They need back up for front 3 and probably x2 CB. Their recent net spend has been poor. To suggest they can get 5/6 quality players on their budget is fanciful imo. Will have very good 1st xi next season but nowhere near the squad to mount title challenge. Ox is a massive loss as he can play CM but also cover front 3, it’s like losing 2 players.

The amount of simple lofted balls over the top that caught them every single time was beyond embarrassing. There didn't look at any time like they were trying to address the issue. They even made Milner look like Pirlo at times.

It was all very odd. It was the sort of tactics and defending you see more in Sunday league football. That’s not even an exaggeration. Their manager looked shellshocked every time the camera focussed on him yet he didn’t change it once. It was only when Klopp took off Salah they got back in the match. Weird. Let’s hope they keep up their home record.

I'm not sure that was the reason tbh. If you take a look at a lot of Pools games this season they seem to drastically tire from the 70-80 minute mark. Quite a few late goals and comebacks seem to happen in the back end of matches.

Agree re the tiredness but I still think taking off their best and most creative player doesn’t help their cause. While he’s on the pitch, their defenders are always shitting it and waiting for that ball, whereas when he went off they just had Ings to contend with. Even Fazio could handl..... actually that’s going too far!

Will be amazing if Roma can pull it off but Liverpool do have it in them to defend for long periods like the City match and nab a goal or two on the break. I don’t usually wish injuries on players but it’d be nice if Salah had an ingrown toenail for the last few matches.

Liverpools bench was very poor. They only had 2 injuries and the only decent player they had was wjinaldum.

Salah is becoming so good that if he doesnt play liverpool just dont look half as good anymore. That would be a huge worry for them

We had that situation a couple of years ago with kane but now we dont rely on him

Everything certainly isnt rosy over there
