It’s liverpool that have to win their last match now should both us and Chelsea win our match in hand

Some proper apologists for the team out and about right now. Really isn't anything to defend. Wish the season ended the moment Alli scored against United, looks like the players gave up from then on

I think we've all defended them so much recently with phrases such as "They'll learn from this", "they were unlucky" etc.

Bollocks. Can't hack it when the going gets tough. This is another time to prove you've got what it takes lads. Don't fuck this up. I believe we can, and will, get top 4 but the fact its been made this close still tells me this team is mentally weak.
Mentality is our single biggest problem. After our title challnge last year the players strolled around at the start of this season against supposedly weaker sides and dropped points because they thought they were too good for them. Had they not done so we would not be going into the final two games praying for them to step up because we'd have points in the bank.

Only if we win our last two games and they don't get a result at Brighton. They have a superior goal difference which means a win and a draw is not enough if they beat Brighton.
Win our two games we get 77 points Liverpool can only get 75 points. You are mistaking us for Chelsea.

I don't think anyone is apologising for the team, some of us are not pessimistic and are being positive about what we are going to achieve

No denying that some of our performances have been shit, but I'm positive that it will end well

Its not even us bottling it. We are just totally out of form. Its either mental fatigue or physically fatique or both.

Maybe we put so much thought and effort away at chelsea and the emotion of beating them at their ground in 28 years has fucked us. Could also be one eye on the WC
Are you one of the players? I am sure these are the sort of pathetic excuses the team will come out with. I have defended them in the past but quite frankly am losing my patience. If we blow it this time it will be bottling of the first order. To see the Watford players outfighting ours on Monday was sickening. I hope they prove me wrong but they don’t seem to have the desire, fight or character to be able to handle these games. Disgraceful.

Still some think we'll get 3rd ? this isn't going to end well. It's gonna end with us in 5th. Not being negative for negatives sake, spent first half of season convinced we were going to win the champions league!!

I'm just worried for those of you who think we're going to win the last 2.
I must admit that with the Wembley move, I never originally expected top 4 this season but obviously with a decent advantage built up in 4th and what was on paper a 'winnable' last few games, it would be disappointing to fall short. Poch must be concerned with the drop off in performances and results however reticent he is publicly so one would expect to see changes in the summer. Trouble is that if we fail to achieve top 4 then he will find his transfer ambitions more limited as a result.

Getting bit nervy now, but at least it in our hands.

I’m more concerned Leicester take another beating in next game, sack the manager and we then get the caretaker bounce!

Wembley needs to be rocking Wednesday... the Watford atmosphere was awful.

Bit uncalled for. He was expressing an opinion politely.

This. Shit will hit the fan next week. Always gave Poch and lads a pass for the collapse in 15/16 but for it to happen again would be in football terms almost unforgivable.

I'm the biggest Poch fan but surely he would be looking at himself. I don't get how that sort of thing can happen more than once. Pissed off.

How? A win and a draw is not good enough to pip Liverpool. Only two wins. What do I have wrong?
You posted "Only if we win our last two games and they don't get a result at Brighton".
Win our last two games and their result against Brighton is immaterial.
