of course he is. several top flight managers have recognized that and utilized him as such. He started a Euro final as such.

He started the Euro final as an ARM and the semi-final and Deschamps is widely ridiculed for the idiotic decisions he made leading up and during those Euros.

They were completely outplayed by Germany in the semis and somehow managed to lose to a shit Portugal who didn’t even have Ronaldo for most of it.

Playing a 4231/424, playing Pogba and Matuidi in a CM2, picking Sissoko when he had players like Martial and Coman, not knowing how to play Griezmann or Payet, Evra, the players he left out of the squad and some he picked (like Sissoko).

Deschamps made a pigs ear of what many French commentators think is the best generation of footballers for 20 years.

At Newcastle he was mostly used as an AM, very occasionally as a cm3. And since when would we hold Pardew up as a tactical genius anyway? At Toulouse he played a handful of games as a cm2, the rest (nearly 200) as an AM in a 4141.

Going against the grain here but I still respect his contribution and like having him around the squad. He's capable of being a cog in a good machine, his performance away at Real being a good example or away at Swansea in the cup more recently where I thought he was exceptional.

In what will be a very physical battle on Saturday he will again be used I suspect.
Great point and I think it’s this which has kept him at the club this season + he seems like a decent bloke works hard and helped SA to settle. If he wants to stay and play even less next season and we bring in 1-2 top quality CM’s and attacking players then fine if we need him for those few physical games or certain types of games but seems like a waste of wages and I’m sure we’d not lose much sleep if he did leave.

How horrible he was in the first half...

I am willing to give him some credit in the 2nd half. He was more aggressive and more direct, trying to move to the right to support trippier, and atleast making the pitch wider giving more room for Eriksen to work with.

Think Poch earned his pay check changing his game tonight.

He has his faults... But a decent backup for the team when we need him

I think if we're being predictable then he's a great option to bring on as his touch alone is like a bag of revels; you never know how shit the next one is going to be.

Application is a bare minimum in any football team. It's a no from me, but can't see anyone paying what Levy would want for him.

I feel sorry for the guy. But yeah. I really do wish he'd leave. Then we can forget the whole thing ever happened. It'd be best for everyone. Sissoko included.

An expected sort of performance from him tonight. Played safe and anything he tried slightly unsafe didn’t come off. But he grafted and so you can’t fault his effort. It’s the one thing, well, the main thing I genuinely don’t understand about Poch and in my personal opinion, when he plays and we win, we do it despite him. But Poch loves him and Poch tends to know best so we’ll see.....

He must train so well and never cause a fuss, which is probably the main reason behind these comments. Fair play but hope he’s sold to make room for a midfield maestro.

I think when he says professional, he means his bank has never rejected his salary payment.

How horrible he was in the first half

Less horrible than trippier, davies and alli to name a few!

It bugs me when people just want to complain about what he does but then ?another player does exactly the same thing and nothing! Yes hes a not the best (and maybe not that good at all) and yes he cost £30m but he plays for spurs and we should be supporting him! Plus the manager picks him

I don't think he's going anywhere unless there's a decent offer.

Poch seems to really value his versatility, his speed and Stamina, resulting in quick transitions from a defensive role to attacking, and his willingness to bench sit and just get on with a job when called upon without throwing a strop

Let's hope like hell we get a decent offer then. Sissoko did a job this season but he's nowhere near good enough for a club with our ambitions. Sell him to a Big Sam type who just wants to sit back and hit the opposition on the counter, he's perfect for that tactic but not at all suited to a possession-based team.

Have to sell him, at whatever price. In today's market I wouldn't be surprised if we could still offload him for 20m. I tried to give him a chance to convince me he could be a squad player for us this season, but his technical ability is just shocking. Might as well have Onomah play in his place, at least he can pass the ball.
