Also, ‘reaction to the fact, as yet unconfirmed, that Hart is out of the England squad’.
Unconfirmed facts. It’s going to be a long summer.
Lol. And Jim White saying 13,000 times a day ‘it’s my understanding...’ which means he’s guessing...!

I keep forgetting they have a multiple year stay at Wembley coming upEven if Poch went there and managed to stay there for a couple of years, he'd be signing himself up for yet another period of transition during a stadium build and a 3 times as long stay at Wembley, he'd be fucking mad to do that
I wouldn't be so hard on Poch here. Sissoko clearly wasn't our first choice (Mane was) and that time he was a starter of French national team who reached Euro's final. Of course, it's the same player who wasI really don't hope he'll be handpicking the targets. Sissoko, Llorente and Janssen (and probably Wanyama) were players he pushed hard for, where at least the first two are strikingly different from the profile we usually go for.

I still remember people here saying they prefer Janssen over Batshuayi as Jansen was more established at the time. Sure, it didn't work out, but he is Soldado 2.0. on more fields than just the field - on paper, this transfer was really good, just didn't work out.
Wanyama was fantastic during 16/17 season then injury happened. I hope he's gonna play back on that level next season. And I'm not going to talk about Llotente at all
We had ITK that this was very much a Poch choice. As far as Sissoko is concerned, I think it was Levy who thought he was great rather than Poch. I still remember Poch made a comment to the effect that Levy signed Moussa and thought Poch could make him an even better player.

However what is clear is that he wasn't first choice and this seems to be a very reoccurring problem. We don't seem to get Poch's number one pick often enough which must be frustrating as you're essentially left with a player that you may have some element of doubt with. This is what has to change going forward.
Poch "I want Zaha, he's the player I believe will help us reach the next level"
Levy "If he's the one, I'll get him!!"
Less...

Levy "I will try, if we can't get him who is next?"

Short of writing a novel dedicated to the subject I am prettt sure Breezer has posted ITK on here a dozen or so times explaining what went wrong there and that we ballsed it up by mega lowballing a salary offer. We were definitely after Zaha last summer.....

That signing went against everything Paul Mitchell believed in with regards to player profiles and that is from a very good source. Levy wanted Sissoko.

I just changed a shitty nappy that had more integrity and charm than Jim WhiteLol. And Jim White saying 13,000 times a day ‘it’s my understanding...’ which means he’s guessing...!
Isn't that why Mitchell left?
He left start of August and Sissoko signed deadline day, but as soon as we was shortlisted the writing was on the wall. Mitchell had almost a moneyball approach, but as you have seen with the money Southampton have made, he got a lot right. In terms of age, technical ability etc, Sissoko went against everything he looked for.
