Maybe just the lack of sleep and the hayever attack, but feeling pretty underwhelmed with the latest ITK updates. Certainly doesn’t feel like we are trying to push to the next level, in fact it doesn’t even seem we are matching our close rivals ambition currently- some of which have made good improvements to squads that were about our level last year...

We ARE bringing in great quality! We are not getting carried away on paying inflated prices for undoubted quality with the same question marks. Pulisic for example, is one that comes to mind.

Good info from Herc...taking our requirements/needs into account in relation to our budget, if getting Grealish allows us more budget to throw at Martial I'm all for it.

Trust Poch's discretion all the way, and Martial really would spice up our attacking options - he's the one I'm praying we get.
Would we go for both Martial & Grealish?
I haven’t seen much of Grealish but I was under impression he was an attacking midfielder?

This is key, there is still plenty of value in the market. Just have to be good at finding it.

I’ll accept Grealish as long as we buy a top player with experience to replace Dembele.

If he’s coming in as a different option for the squad, because the price is good, then fine.

Is he say 40m better than the likes of Grealish?

Is Grealish x million better than the likes of Onomah?

Thanks for the info as always. Your confidence is the only thing keeping me sane this window, on the surface of the tidbits I'm privy to, we lack a proper transfer strategy again.

And I think most would say that 15-20 for Grealish is good value, better value than 60M for Pulisic.

So it's kind of a would you rather: Pulisic (60M) and Rondon (15-20M) or Grealish (15-20M) and Martial (60M)? Give me option 2.

Less salary, but the price. Villa will probably demand north of 30, or maybe onomah the other way as makeweight?
The figure I saw the other day was £12m. Villa will take what they're offered, they're absolutely up the creek if they don't make some money in this window.

Our main focus should be on a top, top quality CM. I’m finding it concerning that it doesn’t seem to be the priority.

Herc, if you make it your business to try and reassure the teeming hordes of manic depressives infesting SC you won't have time for your day job. There'll always be someone, unhappy about something. All we can do is wait patiently as one by one, care in the community and the social services, round them up.

Three cheers for Soylent Green!

Hiphip!

Im confused a bit now but is this interpretation of these bits from Herc make sense?

They liked Pulisic but for 60 mil they think Grealish at 20 mil is much better choice because CP is not 40 mil better than JG.

Agree. Have we even had a solid link to one? ITK or media?

The main ‘big deals’ being discussed appear to be Martial and De Ligt. The CM options I’ve seen are all much worse than Dembele. And Grealish is not a CM.

If the ITK and media reports accurately reflect the club’s focus in the market, then it’s really quite bizarre.

Dear Daniel

Eddie says, he'll accept Grealish as long as you buy a top player to replace Dembele.
You don't want to upset Eddie. Seriously. He once cut his mum over a slice of Victoria sponge and he doesn't like short people much to begin with.

Anyway, just a heads up, your choice. Top player or a tooled up Eddie out for blood.

Pulisic and Grealish are completely different players and I, for one, would be a bit worried if the club viewed them as 'either/or' targets...

Makes sense to me. Herc also said this type of purchase may leave room for a "Martial" type.

Totally different type of players
Yeah like I said haven’t seen much of him so was just wondering if we would be chasing 2 attacking minded players when CM is more of a priority. Saying that I’m thinking Dele or maybe even Eriksen may be playing in a more deeper role next season.

Grealish is very much a Eriksen type of playmaker where martial is more a direct player.
