True, we’ve never bought anyone on the cheap who Poch hasn’t bothered to play..

Not this summer we haven’t, and given that Poch has signed a new contract and rejected Real Madrid on the basis that Levy invests heavily and gets the players he wants, I think we can safely assume that if this happens, it’s because he wants it to.

He reminds me a bit of Barkley (Everton version) in the way he drives with the ball through the middle, but he definitely plays with his head up more and is capable of seeing a pass.

I was underwhelmed by this link initially, but I actually think it could be a decent bit of business if we get it done. Most of us were annoyed to lose out on Barkley in Jan, and this kid has the potential to be as good and probably a fair bit better than him given the right coaching.

Don't mean to lower the tone but at the very least Grealish is a competent, technical footballer who will occasionally score and assist.

Sissoko is not.

Villa Talk

Silver lining is we can see him fulfill his potential sooner. I think Spurs would be a great move for him. I hope we don't accept bids from the likes of Leicester or West Ham, for his sake at least.

Maybe we can buy him back when he's world class and we get to that level too

Looks like Spurs want him. Leicester have no chance now, and it would be a great move for him. We may see his full potential at Spurs. Exciting times for jack.

If we accept £15 million then I’m done with this club

If levy was in our position he would be demanding £75 million he would want £50 Million Mica Richards

If he has to go, Spurs would be best for him and I could just about live with it. Many worse clubs sniffing about. Still clinging to the vain hope he wont go.

Turns out not everyone hates us. This Villa lot are alright.

Hercs post in the ITK thread makes me wonder if we are going to toy with the midfield anchor and 2 number 8s method next season. Eriksen and Dele can play those roles to a great standard IMHO and Grealish would add good depth. Winks too across all 3 positions. Dier and Wanyama are both good anchors.

Would free up 2 pacey wide players either side of Kane if we play 4 at the back - Lucas, Son, Martial/Zaha - or a pacey foil for Kane if we go to 3 at the back...

There was one guy on there who like said authoratively that they were getting 15-18m for him and Onomah might be part of the deal in some form (maybe another loan?) - No idea if that guy is ITK but sounded like he was confident that was the case and those specifics haven’t really been in any news story

Wow. Not (personally) had a good history with villa fans during games.
Tbf when they were our direct competitors about 6/7 years ago their fans absolutely despised us and considered us scum, much as Liverpool fans do now.

Now that they're detached they can view us as the beautiful bastion of footballing hope that we are. Only mild irony intended.

Lilywhite Rose on twitter mentioned something about Onomah going the other way too and he has some youth connections.

I like it.

Dier/ Wanyama

Eriksen/ Winks
Alli/ Grealish (Lamela could also play here)

Lucas/ Lamela
Kane/ NEW
Son/ NEW

With the two ‘NEW’s being one and the same - fingers crossed Martial or Zaha.

Home-grown, Under 23, highly talented, future England international, versatile and toughened up in the Championship. Easy to see why the club would be pursuing him.
