I appreciate this is a Jack Grealish thread but AB is still pumping millions into Chelsea..

The first thing to point out is that, for all their success on the pitch and the revenue that generates, Chelsea have benefited from large amounts of shareholder subsidy in recent years.

Abramovich has been pouring, on average, around £60 million a year into Chelsea. Technically, it has not been largesse but loans, and the most recent count, made in June last year, said the club owed its owner some £1.2 billion. This is repayable within 18 months of Abramovich calling it in -- a commitment Chelsea would naturally be unable to meet if he did -- although at that time he did not express any intention of demanding repayment.

Suprised he didn't sell.

Did he not write off £1bn of it fairly recently?

Can he stump up though without a visa? Really don't know how it works.

He certainly could but the question is why would he. Without a visa he can't work in the UK. He can visit on his new Israeli passport but only for 6 months a year.

It was suggested when he first bought Chelsea that one of his motives was to establish himself in another country where he would popular support if his relationship with Putin turned sour and Putin wanted him deported. The UK is no longer that place.

Asked in the fernandes thread but didn't get an answer. Is it a case of fernandes or grealish? If so, who would you go for all things being equal?

If they are both equal then doesn't really matter as both the same :cautious::sneaky:

Not seen anything of Fernandes so unable to say.

All things equal I think you take Grealish just because of the Internationals quota.

That has to be a consideration. But on footballing ability? I haven't seen either so can't judge.
I've seen Grealish more than Bruno...and by that I mean I have seen a few highlights of Grealish but have not clocked "Play" on the Bruno video!

Ok purchase by me, we need an Eriksen understudy and he would also fit the homegrown bill.

I think a top class CM and one of Martial or Zaha in addition that would make a good summer. That is the most important business IMO.

Depends which forum you're on. Villa fans have seen both in the same team last season so are able to use that comparison. Onomah is younger though so that has to be taken into account as well.
