Just spoke to United supporting brother about what the agent said. He thinks Mourinho could enrage a lot of fans here, he is very well liked amongst supporters who feel that he hasn't been treated properly. They can see his ability and huge potential, they also are stumped as to why - after making a great start to the season - he seemed to be dropped and not given the chance to get back in the team. Some also think signing Sanchez has been an awful decision.

Oh good. This again. United themselves have repeatedly made it known they will not sell to a league rival. Move on already.
You seriously need to cheer up and stop being morbid :woot::woot:
Things go back and forth and can change in an instant. You should know that

I like Martial, but if this is complicated and could drag on, isn’t there other players out there, with the same potential impact, that might cost the same, but would be less complex to secure?

As much as I'd love it to happen I just can't see it. I'm sure we're interested after trying when he left Monaco, but United won't sell to us unless it's for crazy money. Which we won't pay.

You could equally counter it by saying Douglas Costa and Bernadeschi are left footers, Martial would play the opposite wing. Just saying, we have a tendency to come up with reasons why a player won't go elsewhere.

Martial would probably be a record signing for Bayern if his price is in excess of 50M, so normally wouldn't throw Bayern into the mix. But the recent rumors about United and Jerome Boateng are suspiciously timed. If United don't consider Bayern a rival, and get Boateng going in the other direction, I could see a sale in the 40-45M range and I could easily see Bayern emerging with martial at around that price. Their pitch to Martial would be simple and I think effective - Ribery is almost done, Coman not yet proven and more of a winger than a wide forward. United would feel victorious getting Boateng, even if they could have sold Martial to us for Toby and an extra 20M.

Yeah they’re my biggest worry and they have an excellent record of replacing big name strikers when they lose them
Perhaps, but Atleti have just agreed a fee with Monaco for Lemar...

We put a bid in last summer as well mate. Been after him for - if we are to believe the reports that we're after him this summer too - for two summers. Poch seems to want him.

Here is Bouhafsi (the same guy that now reported that he wants to leave) reporting last summer that we put a bid in:

He's tier 1.

So basically the breaking news is that they have access to twitter in the studio. Excellent.

Spurs have long-standing interest in Martial? Having tried to sign him before United and being linked with him in every subsequent transfer window?

Not sure where they get their info from but it's top notch reporting.

Why the fuck would we sell ManU Toby if they won't deal us Martial?

The worst thing about is that we'll probably have to wait till the world cup is over so we can sort out Toby/martial issue.

Martial has played his hand now. You'd think that would increase the likelihood of them relenting and selling to us (not saying it'd happen but still). Less of a PR disaster for Utd if the public knows the player wants out and Jose has already made his feelings clear.

Toby swap seems a no brainer to me. Shame this action didn't come a week ago when Toby would be free to negotiate.

As for Martial, he's a huge talent. 11 goals and 7 assists in under 2000 minutes (approx. 22 full games), was flying until they signed Sanchez, which the agent even mentioned as the last straw!

I think he'd push Son for a starting place and could easily win it out. Either way the other one of them would be a big weapon to come off the bench, which is just what we need.
