On a side issue to us potentially getting Grealish; I think it's really sad what's happening to Villa. They've always been a top flight team in my lifetime, League winners, European Champions, now reduced to selling a promising kid to pay debts. Relegation or 'not being as good as we used to be' is one thing, but the very real prospect of a great club like that actually going out of business is a sobering thought.
It is sad indeed, but mostly down to bad management. If anything we should take great pride for having someone like Levy who runs the club like it should. And yes, I had my frustrations with some of his decisions in the past as well, but credit where credit is due.

Yep. For all the stick that he has got in the past about being a tight bastard etc, one thing is for sure and that's that he runs the club brilliantly, we don't ever have to worry about a similar thing happening to us under Levy.[/QUOTE]

There are probably quite a few clubs (and their fans) who'd love a Levy type of exec running things for them, even if they might not want to say as much in public. As I've probably said elsewhere, he's made some mistakes, and been criticised for them, but, over all, he's comfortably ahead of the game.

I'm pretty excited about this move. The ones that generally underwhelm have seemed to have pleasantly surprised us more often then not.

and a very good reason to carry on competing in the transfer windows the way we do. even if we have a net spend this summer it will never be OTT because things can go pear shaped.

we would all love to see Poch and this team lift a trophy, but top4 till this stadium is totally clear of debt is so important. 19 full houses in the PL, and 3 minimum in the CL is worth so much to us compared to 19 PL and 4+ EL with gates of 25k in the EL with the cheap prices we charge for EL matches

I thought it was more about the rug being pulled from under them? Their owner has the funds, and is willing to invest. After he bought the club the Chinese government introduced currency export controls that means he is unable to support Villa in the way he had intended. Maybe that qualifies as bad management for some?

Surely down to sheer numbers. If you keep making up stories in droves, you'll stumble on one that will turn into reality every once in a while.

One unintentionally accurate transfer story does not a reliable newspaper make...
Indeed. It's the whole monkeys and typewriters thing.

I thought the emoji stuff meant that it's all been done and sky are late to the party.

They've made the film (agreed a deal), smoked cigs (signed) and sky (satellite) need to wake up.
