Martial would be our statement signing. And expensive one. That is ‘If!?’ We can pull it off

Hoped for this one for two seasons I think he would be amazing for us. Doubt it will happen but £50 in the SC kitty if it does :)

As much as I would be happy with Martial, if there really is a chance we can get Bale back I would go for him 100%. Realistically, ether transfer will probably take all summer to sort out and we will probably end up with nether. Utd will make it very expensive and very tricky for us to sign him.

We really should be keeping an eye on developments with Real Madrid very closely. Hopefully Lopetegui will get to work soon. If he decides to let Bale, Modric or Kovacic go we should be all over it.

Toby being at WC should allow the Martial thing to drag out.

You seriously need to cheer up and stop being morbid :woot::woot:
Things go back and forth and can change in an instant. You should know that
They can change in an instant. However, we also were after Martial last year but United wouldnt sell to a rival. They’ve been steadfast in that. I highly doubt that will change when after a few years of being right there with them in the league, we are now moving into a brand new 60k seat stadium that will only strengthen our position. Mourinho might not mind selling anyone to a rival, but their board sure as hell does. There is no reason why that would change unless United were in a position where they had to raise funds which they are not.

Martial would be our statement signing and expensive when Pulisic would be £60m, which is insane money as is? Wow. That’s like fuck you kind of money!!! I cant even begin to fathom how much more than that Martial would command. Yeah theres severe inflation in the market due to the rapid increase of money in the game but if the fee got much more than that and we’d all be seriously questioning why we wouldnt go after a better player that would slot right into the XI in a position of need(which an AM is certainly not).

Can anyone ever remember United selling a good player to a rival English team? I know Tevez went to Man City but he wasn't actually contracted to United was he? The nearest I can think of was Mhkitarian going to Arsenal as part of the Sanchez deal but can Arsenal even be considered a rival these days?

Mkhitaryan to Arsenal? And Arsenal have got the better of that deal so far.

But it doesn't happen often. Normally it's cast-offs to Sunderland or Everton.

If they won’t sell to a rival, then he will have to go abroad as he is too good not be playing for one of the top premiership teams.

Either that or his agent is just getting him a better contract at United (or trying too anyway).

Would love this signing, but got this gut feeling there will be too much interest and we'll not get embroiled in a bidding war.
Bayern, Athletico, Juve, Chelsea, Liverpool would probably show an interest.

Martial is my dream signing - would be absolutely incredibile.

He is already class but has the potential to be world class. Son has reaching his ceiling.

Isn't it weird that these transfers between prem clubs come with so much baggage. In italy they seem to be able to transfer players around all the time between rival clubs. You can hardly say the italians lack passion or what ever.

Veron maybe? Depends on how you judge the ability, but Martial is currently in the same sort of boat, as a player who hasn't broken into the first team not justified the original transfer fee. He's still sort of valued based on potential.

Martial would be some statement of intent and a player (just my opinion) who would add so much up top for us.

Having read the quotes from his agent it feels like we have been here before (not just with Martial) and honestly I hope the top brass have a point at which they just chose to move on to target(s) that are both wanted by Poch and attainable.
