Initial thought was no penalty but I've watched that 20 times and still can't make my mind up. Fuck being a ref.

Great pen that. He had to wait an age to take it.

I think it is a penalty because if the player doesn’t follow through on griezmann he doesn’t fall over and can make a shot at goal.

That’s such a hard call, certainly not clear enough for my liking but in a back to front way I like how they handled the VAR (play carried on and he got a call to review from the video team - minimal interruption)

I think it was a pen but the problem is that even with VAR, some decisions are still subjective.

Don't 100% agree with this, but I can see your point. I'm not sure the defender can avoid the "subsequent foul" as he's already committed to the initial successful tackle.

You might be right, but it's fucking harsh if that's the case.
