Putting down the rubber pellets that give the artificial pitch more bounce.

I was watching them do this at New England Patriots stadium last year, they ripped up the surface after losing their first game of the season, I couldn't believe how many tonnes of pellets they used.

Does anyone know if they’re going to lay the sod for the football pitch while the pitch trays are below the stadium, or do they need to roll them out above the NFL field to do so?

Actually not only one guy, there have been a fair few studies in the US and Europe about it and it comes from the fact that a number of companies have been making the pellets from used tyres. The rubber used in these isn't as stricly governed as to what can be in them as the rubber used in childrens toys etc. and as such they do contain quite a few cancerogenous elements.

However as Bobbins stated it is only through prolonged use and/or ingesting large amounts that it will cause a problem.

A lot of the companies that produce the astro pitches are starting to use more ethical minded pellet making companies though, just costs them more for the pellets.
If it is a Mondo pitch, then they coat the pellets to help keep the hazardous chemicals from leaking out. Well for a few months anyway...
I dare say this is common practice these days.

Paxton give us a song, Paxton Paxton give us a song

shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
My old man, said sit in the south stand.
I said fuck off, bollocks, you’re a ****.
We’re the ones giving shit to away fans.
Some of your lot stumped up over two grand.
Park Lane’s gone corporate,
Well I won’t fall for it.
I’d rather keep it real in the North.
So I’m looking forward to introducing my girls to Spurs.
And that’s why Paxton’s my new Home!

Come at me, yo!

It's currently abroad somewhere getting a nice tan, when the time comes it'll be rolled up into 3 senate carpets, flown/floated to NWHL and transferred into the three pitch trays. Whilst there appears to be room in the garage area to do that work i'm sure they'd rather do it outside.
The grass can only really stay alive under there for 3-5 days i think (between needing a number of days outside) before being stowed away again.
I'm no groundsman but i'd hazard a guess that at the end of it's first season they may park this pitch and do a real world test of how long they can leave it stowed before it's proper phucked. Or maybe not they're more likely to win biggest marrow at the village fete awards than i ever will.
I dare say that garage area has had a ridiculous amount of planning involved in it (beyond just structure and mechanics) that the ground staff have had input to.

I'm interested to know if they'll add a camber to it even though one isn't needed for drainage (would improve the view for those in the front few rows of East & West stands if they don't camber it)

There's no camber, it's supposed to be completely flat.

I'm Paxton upper, right above the away fans so I'll be giving them shit, but won't be able to see them.

"Yeah fuck off you twats, what's the fucking score???....If you're down there...I can't see if you're down there..."

I have stadium ITK but don’t know how much I should share but I’m aware of the official dates etc of some stuff.

But basically here’s a little tidbit Veolia have won the waste contract.

We are the expensive contractor so shows no expenses have been spared
