Report also says he doesn't want to leave and roma don't want to sell
Maybe so but maybe we will offer them a lot more than what they paid for him

At the end of the day it’s probably bull shit but we must have plan b and c in place and itk earlier suggested we may hear a couple things over the next few days not saying this is one of them but you never know. I do believe we were interested in him before he went to Roma

Crazy - this guy should have a WC winners medal, though a poor attitude has directly affected his progress.

It was never on lads not sure why we wasted our time. We should not be selling to rivals also...
Who else has shown an interest in Toby though? Barcelona according to ITK, but they’ve since signed Lenglet.

I don’t think anyone else have been linked. Maybe Bayern, with talk of Boateng leaving?

The only player we've been linked with to date that I genuinely believe would take us to the next level so no surprise its an early no go.

The standard pre season leak for a top player that comes to nothing. Have the top players stopped sending us nice letters now?

Maybe during the stadium tour he said to himself, "there's no way I'm playing on this - it's bloody cement!"

Que sera, sera Tony Marshall.

Wasn't my first choice but would have been pleased with his arrival.

Martial would have been an exceptional signing for us, one that could have taken us onto the next level given the right tools. I'm really disappointed to see that we didn't get it over the line as he's still one of the best young players in the World in my honest opinion.

A summer of Martial, Loftus-Cheek & Grealish would have had me shouting from the rooftops. Chuck De Ligt in there for the inevitable sale of Toby and the whole nucleus of the squad would have and could have been brimming with him calibre talent to drive us on for years and years to come. There's still time though, I'm not one to give up until the fat lady sings.

I'm absolutely gutted about this one. He's the one player I hoped we'd get over anyone else.

Shit if we'd only signed Martial and nobody else then I'd have been happy.

I will hold out some slither of hope that things could turn around and this deal rises from the dead but only cos I'm struggling to let go :ROFLMAO::cry:

Encouraged by the ITK. It seems we might have learned our lesson and not chased a pipe dream until the last day and end up with nobody. Never expected him anyway, unfortunately united can afford to hold onto him until the end of his deal
They will sell next summer if he does not sign

so if we don't sell to Man U and no one else comes in, your be happy to lose 30m+ next season, with the possibility he could go to Arsenal, or Chelsea which we wouldn't be able to stop if they meet the buy out clause (and if he pissed of the club as much as ITK have suggested) Poch might not play him, so might go to 1 of them in spite. we would of wasted 75k a week, lose 30m+ in a transfer fee, then we would have to put up with all you whingers moaning next season because our net spend wasn't good enough to take us to the next level.

I'm quite glad we never. if we went 3 at the back who gets dropped? if it's Martial we have a moody player on our hands. if we play 4 at the back, we will have Son who has scored 47 goals in just over 2 seasons for us in all comps

Its a squad game. We need to start rotating more in the attacking areas anyway. Keep everyone hungry.
