That's going to be the new benchmark for wingers in the rest of the window. Sort of how Neymar's transfer raised the fees of almost every attacking player to be transferred after it.

Then we won't be buying Zaha and rightfully so imo.

Poch rarely plays more than one winger/inside forward, why do we need 4 of them?

Zaha, Son & Martial type players can double up as forwards should Kane get injured or miss a sustained period of time. It gives Poch options which is key in him being able to ship out the likes of Nkoudou, Edwards, Janssen & Llorente.

Sign 1 good versatile forward for £60m and it frees up your need for 4 current squad players potentially, all whilst increasing the genuine quality you have for rotation.

The issue there is none of those guys got any significant minutes. Plus Lucas won't be happy if he gets the same amount of minutes as he got since he got here. I know Lucas will get more playing time but where is all this playing time going to come for essentially 2 new players, Lucas and potentially Zaha.

We could lose all of those 4 you just mentioned and literally not notice it in our rotations.

He joined Watford straight after the Brazil league fixtures iirc, so you can understand a little drop in form
If he has played 2 seasons straight but I agree he is no 50m player

Lamela has injury history. Son is going to be gone for the first 2 months of the season. Harry, Dele and Eriksen will need breaks.

I think the plan is to shift Janssen, Llorente Nkoudou and possibly Edwards if he's got the bad attitude people are saying about to generate about £30m in revenue and a further £120k per week in wages.

Shifting them reduces squad numbers massively, frees up all of a player like Zaha's wages and gets £30m quid to invest in a player like Grealish including agent fees and his salary for the year. I can definitely see why there's a bit of a standoff at the moment but Levy needs to start moving and taking a few risks with it if we want to establish ourselves as a consistent Champions League club.

Having attacking midfield options of Lamela, Lucas, Dele, Eriksen, Son & Zaha is hugely impressive between 3 spaces. It's enough to seriously cause damage and offers actual competition, depth and choices throughout the campaign
