a.k.a. The Thursday Club.

Just noticed that Burnley start in the qualifiers for the EL trophy this coming Thursday 26/7 versus Aberdeen with the return leg at Turf Moor a week later
on 2/7

Not sure who has the telly rights for these at the moment.

No new signings by Sean Dyche yet either.

I have a feeling a Spanish club will win it again, Real Betis is the one I’m feeling. Underdogs.
They have a very interesting team and they just bought William Carvalho.

Some strong teams in the groupstage too. Milan, Villarreal, Bayer Leverkusen etc.

And I think it might be a blessing in disguise for Chelsea that they will play in the EL. They might finally have a tournament where they can play their young talents

Burnley have to get past Aberdeen and then Istanbul Basaksehir. Adebayor, Turan, Emre, Clichy and Inler among their players these days.

Couldn't have got a much harder route at this stage, even if most of those guys have seen better days.

Burnley equalise. Hope they go through, would be nice to be able to support another English team in Europe.

Their league form will take an absolute battering though I'd imagine. Certainly don't have the quality in depth to deal with EL and PL.

I make you right - it's a difficulty one for Dyche, at bit of fame versus PL progress.

I see Sevilla, Steaua Bucharest and RB Leipzig are also in action this evening.

Having Aberdeen v Burnley and TNS v Lincoln Red Imps in the same round of the draw just shows how unfair the seeding system is for clubs from good leagues who haven't been in Europe for decades, if ever. Ridiculous disparity in the quality of the ties.

I remember when we played against Slavia Prague away in a return to major European competition after a long spell away from it. I was absolutely fucking buzzing.

Chocolate kit.

Who was the polish team we played at home?
