Whilst in theory yes that outcome is possible..... how often does something like that really happen? It could easily (and probably more likely) go the other way and a good young player like Foyth could get ruined because he is thrown in too early.

Again... Kane, Alli, Dier, Sanchez & Winks. Also players KWP have shown what they can do in games. Just a few from our own club who are in and around the squad

Arsenal got a player they wanted in return

Chelsea were not asking for anyone in return for Matic and were happy to sell

Chelsea didnt sell Costa to a rival

Coutinho handed a transfer request in...wasnt sold to a rival either and was made to stay until it suited Liverpool and they had got a really good player lined up to replace

City won the league and signed Mahrez to add to their quality squad

We wanted Martial and Sancho in return for Walker and Toby...we have not got either and still sold the players to rivals. 2 players may I add who were part of the best back 4 in the league previously.

Are you just ignoring the facts to suit your pro-levy agenda?

What pro-Levy agenda?!

Pro-Tottenham agenda, maybe.

It's been common knowledge that Toby has wanted to leave for almost a year now and that Poch wants him gone. He barely played last season.

We bought Sanchez last year and he's been a natural alongside Verts.

The clause in Toby's contract has hamstrung us as far as timing goes.

No one else appears to have bid for him...

Building a new stadium to try and push Spurs on to the highest level, but then getting bullied by bigger clubs, like always. Same old story with Spurs. Levy needs to stop focusing on the financial side of things if he wants the club to win things.

Like Peter Ridsdale?

Why is everything pro Levy? You'll be tilting at windmills next. Have fucking word with yourself.

When people blindly accept everything as positive even when its not and then use imcorrect excuses to ignore the bad things what do you want people to say?

This forum is getting ridiculous as if you dont share a collective constant positivity you get called a joke and need to have a word with yourself

Everyone is entitled to an opinion

If it's true then 60 million is great money, esp considering the whole world knew we wanted rid. Alright we would all prefer it was not to united, but if they were the only team willing to pay and more importantly if they were the only club he was willing to go to then what else could levy do? This money has got to be spent wisely.
Wonder will martial put united in a similar position

Again, not everything is pro Levy. I haven't declared you can't have a negative opinion, but the post you pulled up as being pro Levy had very little to do with him being pro Levy.

You want to whine every time something not positive happens to Spurs, fine, not all people will share your opinion though. It's what being on a forum is all about.

Ok then, what would you do if you were Levy? Just get the fucker out the door and rinse them, fed up hearing about this overly gelled prick.

I'm one of the people who thinks Levy does a good job but has his faults. However, this situation is NOT his making. Toby is a mercenary git who turned on Poch and shat on him to boot. No one has a problem with progress and self-advancement but it's clear to see who the actual "bad guy" here is. Toby does what Toby does (or his father and wife do) to get what he (they) want. £60m this year or £25m next year. It's an absolute no brainer.

We now have to replace Toby and effectively Martial, who we spent a lot of time pursuing and clearly thought could happen, in the space of four days. I don't blame Levy but this isn't a positive thing, Man Utd have waited until the last minute to try and fuck us over and I really hope we have plans in place to make sure that doesn't happen. Time to make moves for Zaha and de Ligt or Pavon.

We have known all summer that Toby was likely to leave and it was more than likely go to be to Manchester United as not sure there was much interest from elsewhere. Not sure why the mass histeriar about it now it looks like the deal is close to happening.

I would guess the negative reaction to it is because of how this window has gone for us so far.

Personally I think it's a good deal for us, he's become pretty injury prone and if Poch doesn't want him moping about affecting morale/unity then he has to go.

No idea why United are prepared to pay that much when they're so defensive as it is, but perhaps they want to improve how they play out from the back and his diagnioals picking out lukaku.

Anyway, we had better see some real investment in a quality addition now, that's for sure.

If there's 2 things I wont miss about this window it's the "Leeds" arguement and the "Van der Vaart" arguement.. Jesus H.. I do miss signings though.

I don't care. Poch wants Toby gone. I don't see anyone else interested. £60m now or 12 months of a player the manager doesn't want on £75k a week leaving for £25m to possibly United anyway. I'll take it and run. Others think different.

I don't understand why people think man u or noone. There will be interest in europe for sure, just after the window closes. No as much as £60m but more than £25m and it wont be to united. He's a bloody good player.

Why won’t we do a Leeds ?
I’m not Levy’s biggest fan but what I can appreciate is what he has done over the years which is stabilize our club. We have ‘gradually’ increased the wages & have a new stadium on the way which will eventually increase revenue.
We only need one or 2 special players to add to our quality squad. Leeds blew a fortune in a short space of time & relies on sustaining CL football which was a fleeting visit from them. We are showing consistency at staying at that level so should be able to take that risk.

Yeah I keep hearing this but it's still speculation. It also has to be a team Toby wants to join and a team that can offer him the wage he wants. I'll take the £60m now thanks. We can't spend it after our window closes.

At least no one has brought up Sugar signing Klinsmann.

It's common sense. Toby won't want to sit out another year any more than we want to keep him.
