He may have been part of the B-C PM uproar mentioned earlier. Several of the participants there got the boot, it wasn't just B-C.

I notice Rob hasn't dipped into the transfer market to replace these experienced posters. Does this give us an opportunity to promote some new young SC members and allow them some more posting time? I wouldn't necessarily throw them all in at once but a chance in some minor threads would be good for their forum development.

SI hasn't been around for last 2 seasons, so I doubt that. Plus I don't think the mods would ban someone for receiving a message

I don’t see anything changing in this regard personally, I hope I’m wrong

Agree, I don't see how there will be any difference. We have the exact squad as last year and KWP only got 2 PL starts and a couple of cup games. Don't see why anything is going to change

In regards to Onomah's creativity, would you be happy for him to replace Eriksen if the latter was out long term?

I wouldnt but then I dont think Grealish would either. As you know Onomah is more of a CM but with no preseason, slightly injured, New team and first season playing first team football, he put up some decent stats. I didnt look at Grealish and think he would do significantly better than Onomah in that role. Either way if Eriksen was injured I think we'd just try and adapt the formation.

Edwards would be the best player to put there and he isn't exactly like Eriksen. Either way it's unlikely Edwards will get a chance either way, shocked he has stayed tbh, though I guess European clubs can still buy

Shit me surprised to hear that B-C was one of them!

(Mind you I've managed to blissfully miss who any of them were lol, I always seem to miss the juicy happenings!).

Wasn't Windy very in the know re: our youth set up? (or in the know about general stuff).

I think it's make or break for Onomah. He has 6 months to prove he can cut the mustard.

Personally I don't think he is of the required standard...he didn't stand out at Villa in the Championship. Also he seems to be very injury prone.

Prove me wrong Josh!

I'd love to see Onomah establish himself in the Dembele role but don't really feel he's been handled properly / eased in enough (yes maybe he has been crap in training but I don't have that insight so can only go on my outside knowledge of situation).

Drives me nuts when I kept seeing him played too far up pitch, mainly on wing, absolutely pointless...

A question for the regular youth watchers among us, regarding Goalkeeper prospects if I may.

How highly do we (and we believe the club) rate Whiteman and Austin (or De Bie etc)?

Do we believe it viable for any of those to take the 3rd Goalkeeper slot, either in this seasons CL squad of 25, or in the foreseeable future should Vorm and/or Gazzaniga move on?

I'm curious as it's an obvious role to help our homegrown planning going forward.

I've seen bits of both, but not enough to make a rounded opinion.

Apologies if already discussed!

As a creative player, I would prefer Grealish to Onomah in a CM 3 or AM role. It looks like we are switching to 433, whumich could be greate for Onomah.

Edit: I mean would prefer Grealish as a creative CM in 3 man midfielder not prefer him in a CM 3 to Onomah in general.

Whiteman isn't as highly rated as he once was. I never got the hype personally. De Bie has been fine every time I've seen him but I'm not expecting to ever see him in Lloris' shoes. Austin is definitely a Championship keeper (at least). I'd put my money on Austin having the most success of any of them and so I'd probably expect him to be no.3 if anything happened to one or two of the others.

Onomah isn't someone who will go around making killer passes left right and centre threading the ball through gaps you wouldn't think are there like Eriksen (though he can have his moments), but what he does almost always have, at youth level at least, is a good appreciation of pass - what pass, the weight, timing of when to give the ball, to put it out in front for someone to run onto etc. Which isn't always a given, even for professional footballers.

If he could translate at first team level being able to carry the ball through the centre of the park and then making the correct pass that would add something to the squad.

I think BC was the poster who had a massive rant at the mods via a PM which then got leaked onto the site. He was apparently rather rude and then tried to persuade others to join him in a defection to COYS.

Rob wrote a vague, mentioning no names, summary but all evidence has been expunged.

It's tough. The mods are one reason why this site works but the site works because they provide a platform for posters like BC to express themselves.

I wish a better balance had been struck as we've all lost out.

Oh right, I read the fallout of that but didn't realise it was him. What a silly billy

Yeah agreed, site runners gotta do what's necessary, but it's a shame so many of the old guard are getting slowly stripped away. BC was one of the reasons I visited here in the first place, those many moons ago.

Looks like Windy, SpursIdol and Bus-Conductor are on TFC now...... worst forum transfer window ever. If @IGSpur and @Blake Griffin leave, I riot.

Do they get any ITK over there? or is it not that kinda forum - I've listened to their pod before, but found it hard enough keeping up with this forum let alone joining another
