The Premier League transfer window has come and gone, but Toby Alderweireld is still a Tottenham Hotspur player. The question is: do the fans still want him playing for the club?

Absolutely loved the quality he brought to our defense.

If he can recapture that then absolutely the fans will want him to stay and play. Down to him now.

Hopefully he's gotten over the fact that he won't just waltz back into the team seeing as Sanchez as an absolute beast. Unless we go 3 at the back that is...

This one-way window extension is brilliant for Levy.
Sell the unsettled players and "sorry MP, I'm not allowed to buy a replacement".
I've little doubt Toby, Rose, Dembele etc will be offered around europe for the rest of this month.
Lovely jubbly. £££££

If that happens then Poch will walk before we get to kick a ball at the new stadium.

That would be incredibly stupid from Poch considering Toby is significantly better than Sanchez.

No not really particularly in the case of last season, Sanchez stepped up and proved that we was an able replacement.

The tactical aspects of Toby staying could be important. Being able to play 3 CB's in tough CL nights and against the other top teams in the league could prove massive.

Sanchez would still see plenty of game time. It might hinder Foyths development though, not sure what the long term plan is regarding him.

But able doesn't mean superior. Sanchez inexperience totally cost us against Juve last season.

Sanchez is definitely the future, but we should be trying to get as much as we can from a world class defender like Toby while we still can.

Can't see many teams coming in for him especially at that price.

You don’t think Levy would take 35m (just a guess obviously) for an unsettled player that might not sign a new contract and can leave for 25m next summer, regardless of what Poch wants?

Where did I mention superior?

The problem is that his value is set at £25m next summer for a couple of weeks, if he plays well and subsequently into form then he'll become a target for our rivals, you don't want to create a scenario where Liverpool or Chelsea can sign him for as little as that do you?

The message should be don't get too comfortable until you sign which will effectively put the ball back in our court.

Depends if Toby is committed to the club.

I think ultimately the decision is Poch's whether he wants to keep him around or not.

Yeah, but even if he doesn't play that much those clubs will still be coming for him.

We most definitely will lose him next season, so we might as well let him to give us one last good season before we part ways.
