Yeah, but we always are, and It didn't cause us much harm these past few seasons.

We're joked about for leaving business late and the whole Levytime Brinksmanship thing usually, not that we don't do any business whatsoever!

I honestly don't think we're in too bad shape, but I think everyone is surprised we didn't get at least one player in...and we're also left with a fair amount of squad 'filler'.

The fact that teams around us have changed players etc. means we could be up against it for a Top 4 place, especially if Harry gets a bad injury etc.

No signings whatsoever will be a constant stick to beat us with if things aren't going well...we really need to start with 3 points against Newcastle and a Harry goal in August or this shit will echo for the season IMO.

The stadium will be massive for the club, but in saying that, there shouldn't be all this before we get into it. It's not like we weren't trying to sign players either, it doesn't look great, does it?

It really annoys me when people keep on about oh if Harry gets injured. What if Lukaku Salah Hazard Aguero Zaha gets injuries?

They have a better chance of winning?!

I can guess people will say but Harry scores most of our goals.... But we scored well and won a fair amount when he was out injured towards the second half of the season, it was when he came back we struggled to score again.

So yeah, it's not good losing your best striker, but as long as our other forward line ( not llorente, I mean Eriksen, son, Lucas, Lamela ) are fit then we can cope.

Goals win games, he scores more than anyone and Llorente/Janssen aren't up to it and Sonny is not a CF.

We've been very lucky he's not been out for too long recently when he has gotten injured.

United have Rashford and Martial.
Liverpool have Firmino and Mane.
Chelsea have Morata and Giroud.
City have G. Jesus and their growing exciting wide men collection.
I don't fear Palace taking a CL place off us.
Even the scum have Aubameyang and Lacazette.

We only have one actual centre forward who scores goals...this is is why I worry about Harry getting a bad one.

Son is as good a back up forward as any player on your list.

I don't worry that much, we trashed Bournemouth, Swansea and Chelsea last season in consecutive games without Harry. In fact, that was probably our best patch of the whole season.

Son still being dismissed as an able deputy despite proving many times in the past that he's good enough to backup Kane...

We played our best football last season with Son as a striker, not a problem for me as long as the other attacking players are fit as well. It's why Zaha would have been a good signing for us. The way I see it we don't need a back up no.9, as that player will hardly play. When Kane is out, he'll be cold and out of form. Son however will be on fire and ready to go. No other pure striker will be good enough for us with Kane around.

Fucking Brexit & Bravery?!

Are all the rest of the fucking clubs not leaving the EU then? They're less brave by not taking risks in the market?

What the actual fuck?
Brexit's had a major impact on us that it hasn't for others because of the stadium. Firstly, it drove up the price of all the imported materials we needed because of the Pound collapsing. Secondly, the economic and cultural uncertainty has created a very bad market for long term and expensive commercial deals, which is at least a contributing factor to why we haven't sold the naming rights.

There's a real chance we may have delayed the stadium if there was any indication Brexit was gonna happen. But it didn't seem a realistic possibility until 2015 when the Tories won an overall majority which you could have got odds of 50-1 on just a few weeks previously. And we were far too advanced by that stage, let alone by the time the vote actually happened.

This.

Harry has proven himself to be an excellent striker, of that there is now no doubt. However, when he is out we put Son up top and play a far more mobile and faster style of attack. Most teams just can't cope with the pace. We have learnt to deal with it when HK is injured and it doesn' harm us, at all.

Brexit can't really be used as an excuse for not finishing transfer negotiations tbh. Brexit did not eat a £25m bid for Grealish at the very least.

It could probably also be argued that MP is playing it cool for the benefit of the squad...he's hardly going to start static with the season so close when it's not going to make a difference at this stage anyway.

I'm not saying Sonny's terrible up there, but we should have had someone else in by now to cover Harry...personally I think it's a more important gap in the squad than a new central midfielder is. For me, Son's just not quite strong enough or good enough in the air/with his hold up play to lead the line...he's a natural winger IMO.

Anyway, I hope he doesn't have to play there once this season and Harry smashes 50 goals in!

Whilst I don't disagree with your last line for one split second, it is extremely useful to be able to play a different style of attack just by changing one player. We can do that, and have done so very successfully when HK is injured. How many other teams can?

We've tried 2 other players to deputise for Kane and they've been poor.

People make such a massive thing with this fabled backup striker they wish for but don't realise that we have the players already. When we don't play with Kane we change the tactics and the game plan, we're a lot more fluid and less predictable so we're not in desperate need of one.

The only other team in the league to have a direct replacement for a quality striker are City because they can afford it.

Makes me laugh when people say "what if Harry gets injured, we don't have a replacement"

If any team in the world had 2 Harry Kane's then one of them would be getting sold sharpish for 250 million

No team in world football has 2 Harry Kane's
