Following the release of the Premier League fixtures for the 2018/19 season, we announced that, barring any significant issues with the final stages of stadium completion, our match against Liverpool on 15 September would be the first match in our new stadium. Recent testing and commissioning has now shown issues with the critical safety systems.

Embarrassing,

Huge projects always seem to get behind though.

The NFL won’t be happy.

Man City as our first game in the New Stadium. Tricky

I’m sure this is true and Safety first of course but cynicaIly I wonder if we might prefer our first game at the new stadium to be against Cardiff. Perhaps more likely to start at the new stadium with a win :-/

Cardiff has been moved to, first possible game is now Manchester City which even tougher so that’s not a factor, safety cert problems around south east and south west corners I hear.

I know it's important too get all the safety issues and it's needs too be 100% but I feel like we fans are now being taken for a ride by Levy.No home no new players.Whats this mug Levy playing at ? This is taking the piss we might as well go play in hackney marshes now, just really pissed off with what a season were going too have now the players and Poch must of be really pumped up to play infront of 62000.

I know people you wont like my comment on here but most of this was said in pure anger when the news came out.I was looking forward too go back to are home ground, anyway looks like Wembley again for the CL league games we didn't too bad last year.

This is not a long term concern. This is short term. The issues are known, some are contractor related, some are services related. The longer part of the delay is arranging the test events and sign offs for licence.

This is not Levy issue. He has moved mountains to make this happen this season.

I very much would like to know what is happening with the season tickets now. I've not bothered with Fulham and I am reluctant to schlep back to Wembley for another two games. It's so difficult top get to.

This is disappointing as booked my flight from Manila to go to the Cardiff game at NWHL. Never mind will just have to drag myself to Wembley instead. Short term pain for long term gain and all that crap. Will still be worth the wait and I think we all just need to show a little patience.

Let's hope the problem can be easily fixed and the stadium opened as soon as possible. I bet it was a fun meeting when Mace told Daniel Levy. I imagine he will be pushing them to reduce their fees by an 'unreasonable' amount in compensation.

I think its reasonable to expect a problem would arise on such a huge construction project in such a short time frame.
