I'm only going on what I've seen from the keeper alone, the effect of the defence in front though is something that can only be measured when tested.
Sure - but you are going a keeper that you saw play 2 matches, 3 years ago. Since then, he has gone on to play 32 for Rayo, and a year+ worth of training for us. He might be better...

I still think he is behind Vorm - otherwise we would not have extended Vorm, and its possible that the only reason Poch keeps him around is that Gazzaniga is also from Murphy, Argentina. But, to suggest you know what kind of keeper he is today, based on a couple of matches in 2015 - is a bit of a stretch.

Indeed, which I've stated numerous times...

My memories of him at the time of signing him weren't good and I know he wasn't rated highly in or at Southampton and in fact I didn't even know he went out on loan so I have no idea how he did there.

I never suggested knowing what kind of keeper he is today, that's just simply impossible to know. I simply stated that the memories I do have of him suggested he wasn't the best of keepers, even if those memories were limited. I don't even remember them well myself, I just remember what I was feeling about him.

Again, this is some of the perception from Saints fans after we'd actually signed him, not 3 years ago or before he went on loan. I'm not the only one who felt they were able to base some sort of opinion on him still:

I think Gazza size is probably the thing that people like aligned with the fact he hasn’t let us down yet. Personally I like a keeper to be 6 4” fill the goal and look a presence. It’s my only concern with Vorm and to a degree Lloris. I never really feel Lloris looks comfortable on crosses or dominates his area. Although invariably he gets something on it and clears the danger though he never looks that convincing. Obviously Lloris makes up for it in other areas. As said Gazza looks the part he fills the goal and looks quite dominant. But there’s no way of really judging him unless he plays at least a dozen games.

He better not start against city, save him for West Ham because we are gonna need wholesale changes.
