Test event in two weeks isn't impossible and would be a good sign. They did say they thought it might be ready for Man City (28th October) but couldn't promise it, which would tie in with end-of-September test events. It would also mean we're well on course to be ready for Chelsea.

The other thing is that there's a chance we'll be at home in the League Cup on the 31st October or 1st November. If we wanted to potentially use that as an opener we'd probably need a test event completed before the fourth-round draw on the 26th of September - so two weeks time would be perfect for that.

I don't actually work in construction, but the way I see it is that your breaks are part of the working day and if you're at work you deserve to be paid for it.

Totally agree unfortunately a lot of employers see it differently

They’re removing an entire section of seats in the southwest corner. Didn’t they already remove the 20-25% of seats that had the manufacturing defect?

At least they're uncovering the seat=s now so it's beginning to look more like it.
I guess if they are going for a test event on the pitch in two weeks we can expect to see the gantries stored away, the cranes moved out and the ground uncovered within the next couple of days.

It may be different for builders and tradesmen as a lot are paid hourly a believe, but in the financial industry you get an annual salary based on a set number of hours a week with a start and finish time.
IE 35 hours per week 9-5
9-5 is 8 hours a day, so 40 hours a week with 1 hour a day lunch break.

Basically, I don't get paid for my lunch hour and I don't see why I should, I'm usually in the gym or at a restaurant somewhere with a client. :ROFLMAO:

A test event in 2 weeks seems very optimistic. Surely they’d want the turf down for a reasonable amount of time to bed in. I would think at least 2-3 weeks. And doesn’t look like turf going down anytime soon.

Then you should be given the option of skipping your lunch break and go home an hour early.

It is probably that you are looking at seats that have not been installed yet, they've just been stacked in certain areas. When they have a set area to install in they just take from those stacks, so it looks like they're being un-installed.

You can see them stacked in the gallery here: https://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/2018/september/new-stadium-latest-photos-1-sept-18/

I’m doubtful of a test event in two weeks, but once the turf is laid the inside of the stadium will be pretty much done, right?

Yeah i don't think we are too far off. I think it is just a matter of how well the recabling/installation of the fire systems is going. The exterior is not far of being done, seats too. The outside of the stadium is looking less cluttered and tidier with each passing day.

Crane on TL1 is being taken down at the moment btw too.

That’s illegal I think. Pretty sure it’s an EU directive that says if you’re working more than 6 hours a day you have to have a minimum of a half hour lunch break. Could be wrong though.

Why should I be paid to not work?
As for working through lunch to leave early.
My boss wouldn't have a problem. Then again, I'm more likely to work though lunch because I'm busy and it's part of the job.

There's 2 types in this industry - those who do the min required and those that do the most they can.

I like the yellow as mentioned in another post above.

your definitely a breath of fresh air to the forum being so ill and now realising that life's to short to be a moody fucker 75% of the time. too bloody cheerful for this forum , I've escaped death around 8 times, and if I'm living a cats life I'm bloody worried about the next time, which makes these test tomorrow a bloody worry:(

those test went well, still on 8 used lives(y)

Sure I remember reading that our Groundsman said the pitch will be layed 1 week before the first game. So I guess if this test event is in 2 weeks then we should see the grass being layed in 1 week

But the UK opted out of the EU working hours directive.....so junior doctors could continue to work 600000 hours a week

Impressive, and the blokes doing the work on it have got bigger balls than I have. You wouldn't catch me wandering around up there with no harness.
