Didn't find a player thread do here it is.

Is he the heir apparent to Lloris?
Better than Vorm?
Is he better than Pau Lopez?

I think he's good enough to eventually replace Lloris and his distribution seems very good but I suspect he'll want first team football before the time Lloris leaves.

As for Vorm and Pau Lopez? I think he's a better option now than both.

Vorm has played around 150 games in the EPL and Gazzaniga has played 2. Not really much there to draw any meaningful comparisons from.

Happy for him to have a successful match between the sticks. It's not much to go on though as he had little to do, but did the few things he had to well, not anything bad to say about the performance!

I would rather see how he does when he has to be a bit more busy to conclude as to whether I'd want him over Vorm or not though.

Better than Vorm imo.

He's been solid enough in most of his work which for a backup goalkeeper is all you can really ask for, and he is possibly even the best keeper at the club technique wise with the ball at his feet, but I think he's had quite a bit of luck in his outings thus far as well. In his game last season his first act was to get stranded in no mans land, and he really should have conceded a goal and/or a penalty and red card. Then last night if not for an offside call (however correct it was) everyone seems to be ignoring that he badly flapped at an aerial ball and it ended up in the net. Those two incidents go differently and he gets completely written off by the majority of the fanbase.

Whilst I feel more comfortable with him that says more abut Vorm than Gazza. Gazza still looked dodgy and lets not forget the cross that they got called offside on - he was quite dodgy in. I wont have a go at him because he has had no minutes and barely has played.

His handling of the shot at the end was good because it dropped right in front of him on a wet night

He's not world-class or anything, but he's at least a decent second-choice keeper and outrageously good to be third-choice when you compare him to the likes of Robert Green being signed up by our competitors.

I was one of those who was begging for Gazza to get a start over Vorm, after listening to my other half going on about his "Come to bed eyes." I am regretting my decision.

Vorm would have got dog's abuse for that in the current climate.

Was not signed for his goal keeping prowess, but only to fill their home grown quota

I have a feeling that our new Gazza will keep starting games until Lloris returns to full match fitness, with Vorm dropping behind the two of them in the pecking order. It's only one game but right now the position is Gazzaniga's to lose.

What ever happened with Pau Lopez btw? Wasn't he apparently highly rated by Poch, but was able to move for a free last year? Seems like he's at least decently rated by people in La Liga.

I don't understand why he wasn't made number two this season, to be honest. Vorm has been a good servant and I rate him, but he's so unnecessary.
