Yeah, everyone does. Right up until we lose, then its "this one's on Poch" or "we've thrown away a cup win". Not suggesting you'd say it but it's gonna happen.

I'm actually hoping the match thread will be quiet tonight but you never know. The fuckers might get their trick or treating in early :D

Normally I’d agree, but with the ridiculous turnaround of 48 hrs between matches and West Ham having twice as long a rest I don’t see how anyone could expect anything but wholesale changes from the City game.

Luckily a lot of our better players didn’t even start on Monday.

Main worry is defensively.

his form has been poor but this seems fair:

Yes, maybe yes. I asked him to play 90 minutes against PSV Eindhoven, it was difficult again to overload him [against City] but I hope that he will ready to play Wednesday and Dele too is possible, we will see.

This is the bit I meant.

Is Christian Eriksen fully fit?

“Yes he is fully fit. Another thing is to play well or not but he is fully fit.”

Metalhead

But that's a debate for another thread.....

There's nothing in this. He simply means that he cannot promise that Eriksen will play well because he can't possibly know that but he is confirming that the player is certainly fit and can start.

Yes but poch volunteered that information in addition to the question asked. Something poch doesn't usually do. He is usually very economical with his words. The question was "Is eriksen fully fit?" I think this ties in with pochs quote about being unhappy with some players.

I'm not trying to doom and gloom, just being realistic.

So with Conte not going to Madrid it got me thinking.

Hypothetically speaking, if Poch were to decide to leave and go to Madrid (For the record, I don't think he will) would fans rather we went for someone like Eddie Howe who appears to be a very good, young, progressive coach. His teams play good football and he would also have an eye on youth development and a long term plan but he's not won anything....

or

Would you prefer someone like Conte. He's a serial winner after all. Also progressive, young and his teams play good football. Not sure he's overly bothered about youth though and he would come with big wages as such a big name.

I'm intrigued to know what people think. I like Howe a lot but I can't help but feel like he's a Poch 2.0 and at this stage I can't help but wonder if we would need to be looking at a bigger name now that we're more established as top 4 team. It feels like appointing Howe would be a little bit of a backwards/sideways step whereas Conte would be more of a bold move.

Last time around we shot for LvG as the serial winner, he turned us down and we opted for Poch. It worked out beautifully in many ways but, as we are often reminded, we're yet to win anything. Worth thinking about.

Each to their own, I don't see it that way and think it's being read into too much.

If we went after anyone I would go after Simeone big Big time. I like howe but he'd be a bit of a step back. Didn't have the best season last year either. Thi k this season is more down to many clubs involvement in world cups and they had an uninterrupted ready to go preparation.

This isn't about his recent form, it's about whether he will play well after returning from injury
