i have a qustion for a friend, can you not rate a spurs player as a footballer, but still support them as a yido?

Of course. We did that pretty much all through the 90s with most of our players. There's a couple of players at the club now that I don't rate, but just because I don't think they're that good doesn't mean they don't deserve my support.

They wear the shirt, we support them. At least, we always used to until the internet came along and everyone started using it to hurl abuse at anything and everyone.

Replying to your posts is stalking now is it, do you know how forums work?

You summed him up and said that his crossing ability is poor based on one half of football, do you see what's wrong with that? Do you see how stupid your statement is now?

Guys please! Life is too short for this

Sure, I do it all the time. But that means (a) not taking gratuitous opportunities to post "oh fuck, Sissoko" when the team is posted every week, (b) not hunting down every petty error he makes and making a one-line, content-free post to moan about it, (c) not ignoring all the subtle aspects of his game, such as strength, positioning and the ability to run the ball out when we're under pressure and (d) not filling lots of irrelevant threads with unnecessary and irrelevant "jokes" based on his alleged incompetence.

No one wants to ban criticism. I'm absolutely scathing about players on numerous occasions, when they do deeply stupid or incompetent things, but I stick to criticising what they've actually done, as opposed to making assumptions about what they "are", and I don't just look for pointless opportunities to post zero-content one-liners that solely exist to diss the player - and to influence other people to diss the player, by creating a climate of contempt.
I think the problem here is that many, many posters not only criticised him, which is fair enough...they nailed their colours to the mast and completely wrote him off, declaring he'd never be good enough and was a complete waste of money.

Because of that they feel the need to highlight and emphasise every single slight error even when he's playing ok, the only other option is to admit they got it wrong, and they're actually pretty shit at judging players.
This is the internet, where people very rarely admit they are wrong.

I can't say it's as much fun watching Spurs as it used to be but for a bunch of legends with no strength in depth it's not going too badly all things considered.

Good game for Foyth, Sissoko and Lloris and a lot of hard work from everyone else.

Dear oh dear. When commenting on his crossing I specifically added "this half" which meant the second half of the game as you are correct in the first half his crossing was better. .Again, if you watched the game I'm not sure you could disagree but if you are the same young person who was commenting on a previous game based on listening to a radio commentary and the same again today you won't know that.

I believe that too many people "rate" a player based on their short term form. Look how many people are currently slagging off Kane for going missing in games.
good we're all in agreeance, and anybody slagging off any player without supplying any form of value to their claim should just immediately be ignored.

But I also don't like the blanket statements that we've been seeing that any form of criticism is hate. Which is just annoying as the hyperbole.

Lol lamela. Not even offside and he manage to fuck that on up. Awful, same as his performance today.

Suppose the conditions don’t play a part? Should of trapped it, done a pirouette and lobbed it over the rushing keeper with his cock?

In boxpark so here’s my thoughts. Wasnt a good performance but winning those matches is the mark of a professional side. Trippier going off on what looked like an off the ball play. Felt terrible for him. Not ideal. Lamela broke his nose and is likely concussed and palace fans were being dicks. Fuck off thanks.

FOYTH!!!!!!!!! What a lad. Love him.

Exactly but you fail to answer the question
I have to stop this keyboard nonsense as I could be arguing with a 12 year old listening to the radio in his bedroom.

Yeah please do, probably for the best, PM if you want to carry on, no one wants to read this shit.

No you're just being bit precious. They should recognize that Sissoko brings value to the squad. That doesn't mean that he hasnt been a disappointment while at spurs. People should be allowed to make mistakes without saying that their opinions are shit.
