Make no mistake, Messi was epic at Wembley....but..... we didn't make enough attempts to tackle him or foul him when needed.
Tactical fouls are a part of our game, if you can take him down in his own half with a simple trip then do it. We didn't do it and he ran the game at times.

IMO, if you took him and the 90 second goal out of that game, we had them on the ropes.
Take him and Suarez another brain fart out of this game and we might have a chance.
It could well be a slugging match with whoever bludgeons the other to death the winner.

.

I'm not suggesting we rack up yellows like this , but in the WC Messi was relatively quiet because everyone respected his ability and had a man on him constantly . We, on the other hand , chose to give him truly acres of room at Wembley and he had his best game for yonks .

I hear Poch say in presser that we will make no special arrangements for Barca, we're going to play 'our game' apparently . Sounds like we're going down the acres of space route again which imo would be a mistake .

Surely they'll rest Messi. I mean why on earth would they risk him in a game that's meaningless to them?

Should they rest Messi, although they are still a daunting prospect, the lift we would get could see us getting the improbable result we need. It would be a monumental moment in our history if we were to win in the Nou Camp tonight, it really would.

COYS!

Messi wants to play every game, pretty much insists on it, and hates ever being taken off. Obviously now he's a bit older perhaps they'll rest him, but he has always played in their dead rubbers in the past.

This could quite easily be about 7 all, we are going to go for it and i would expect nothing less from this team

All I’m hoping, however unlikely, is for PSV to beat Inter. Any other result in our game would then be fine.

Can you imagine the piss that would be boiled on Merseyside if we get tonked tonight but get through because Inter lost! Especially if Liverpool crash out as well!

The game finishes around 23:00 and spurs will be kept in after. Think it might be a nightmare trying to get back. I'll be fine as i'm in the barca end, just worried about my mates.
Hope it's not like florence getting bussed back.
There's loads of taxis knocking about anyway. Barcelona as a city isn't the largest so they are very easy to take and get from A to B rather quickly.

Nights like tonight are what football is all about. Barcelona away, in a make or break (for us) Champions League match.

Absolutely can't wait for this one, just hope we do ourselves proud (and perhaps PSV do us a little favour too). If by some miracle we get the result we need, then it will make all the years of toil watching our second string grind out a 1-0 win in Qarabag worthwhile.

COME ON YOU SPURS!!!!

They said if it comes to it they'll walk a bit then get an uber.

There is absolutely no reason for Messi to play tonight as far as I'm concerned. I've emailed Barca saying as much.

Of course he will play tonight and of course he will score. I just having a feeling we will get what we need tonight and go through.

Well it's good news if Suarez isn't playing that's for sure. He opens up so much more space for Messi with his clever runs and being a real threat himself. Him missing would put more emphasis on Messi himself and that makes it a fraction easier to deal with.

It's telling that when questioned about how seriously Barca will take this, will Messi play or not, and so on every expert gives a different answer. Some say Messi will play because he needs to build up match fitness, others say they won't risk Messi because it's a meaningless game to them. They really don't have a clue what Valverde will do.

One thing we do know is that Barca (fans especially) absolutely detest Inter after the semi final in 2010. Can imagine Dele giving Busquets a little nudge if Inter take the lead like "hey, what are you doing, Inter just scored, wink wink".

Looking at the squad they've picked it doesn't look like they will be putting out any sort of weakened team

Confirmed Barcelona squad vs Spurs: Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, Jasper Cillessen, Nelson Semedo, Gerard Piqué, Clement Lenglet, Thomas Vermaelen, Jordi Alba, Juan Miranda, Ivan Rakitic, Sergio Busquets, Denis Suárez, Philippe Coutinho, Arthur, Arturo Vidal, Carles Alena, Luis Suárez, Lionel Messi, Ousmane Dembélé, Munir.

Not really a weak player in that squad is there...

But Messi and Suarez are their main men, they are a totally different team without them. More i think about the last game the more optimism we should have, we are playing so much better and we gifted them a lead. There isnt a million miles between us as teams, as long as we have a go we will create chances.

A lot is going to rest on Hugo, he owes a big performance to the Cl this year

I am afraid it is that time of the year when Hugo Lloris, our captain, makes a big howler end up gifting the game. He usually loses focus when there is such big games. I for one, already panicking , how he is going to let us down again....
Sorry to be pessimistic, I just have a bad feeling that we will be close but end up not going to knockouts because of a individual mistake.

Big game tonight im very excited - hopefully we can get something from it. However I don't think we will, only if Barca goes full B-side, which they won't in the CL. Also think Inter will beat PSV easy, as they have nothing to play for.

And you already know that Lloris will fuck it up and cost us the game. Hopefully not as he has played well lately.

Sorry for the negativity, I would love to be proved wrong.
