As others have said, Poch will have to be very clear over the coming days what he says and what signals he gives out to a rampant news media, ready to twist and manipulate every word he says.

We face 6 months of this media BS circus, and it will affect the players, as it did with Redknapp during the England episode.

Levy is now under serious pressure to deliver..in so many ways.

Speaking without my Spurs cap on, Poch is THE perfect candidate for UTD..and I fear things might go pear shaped for Levy in the summer.

He's always seemed a pretty heart on his sleeve type person to me, but ok.

He's definitely savvy in what he actually says, but I agree. He did seem down at the start of the season, whereas in recent weeks has seemed as happy as he has ever been. I don't think that's a media ploy, if he's happy and smiling, it's because he's happy.

Whatever way you look at it, Man U has got several months to turn Poch's head. I ain't looking forward to the uncertainty. Hopefully, Poch himself will dispel the rumours quickly and decisively.

I disagree. No one is being paid £400k a week at Huddersfield or Fulham and nor could they afford Mourinho, Klopp or Guardiola. Spanish speakers may well love La Liga but it's not just about Spanish speakers is it? There's a very good argument that United is a bigger club than Madrid and it's not bankrolled by a country either.
At the top end of football, money is not that important, they are all making more money than their family could need for generations to come.
I doubt managers and top players are looking at Forbes lists to decide on their next club.

And the Spanish speaking thing is just the fact that Growing up in Argentina, apart from the Argentinian club they supported Real and Barca would be the world teams most idolized.

Why would he want to join utd ? They are slowly becoming a past time . The pressure to get results at a club like utd could see him out the door . He had time at us but at utd he won’t have that luxury

Pressure at Utd. Maureen has 2.5 years at Utd and acted the way he did.

Their fans and board have been extremely patient.

I don’t get the panic on here. There’s no chance of him leaving Spurs in the next two seasons unless Levy sacks him.
He has unfinished business and is very loyal.
People saying ‘but he left Southampton to come to us’ , have a very low opinion of what Tottenham are.

The annoying thing is we will have to put
up with this speculation now for at least 6 months with half of redcafe convinced Poch is their manager in waiting. So annoying!!

I wonder if anyone will mention Man Utd at his press conference this afternoon for the Arsenal v Tottenham game

I don't think you can avoid the fact that wealth and income are a large part of what makes a huge club.

Poch needs 1 good transfer window at spurs to turn us into title contenders. Poch would need several of them at United just to get them challenging again. He’d also have an incredibly hard time removing bad eggs from the group, such as Sanchez and Pogba, because they’re on multi year, multi million pound deals.

I really don’t think the United job is as appealing as what some people are making you believe.

He is the one they want. They will push for him as hard as they possibly can.

It will take Poch himself not wanting to go there to avoid it happening.

The worst part of waking up to the Mourinho news hours after it happened is I've already missed most of the best meltdowns on here.

The different between Spurs and United now, compared to a few years ago, as Mourinho stated "Can we go to Tottenham and buy their best players? No - because they don't sell or because they are so powerful that they can say no." I think a lot of media underestimate the Spurs lure, and are lazy in their thoughts and writing on the matter.

Yeah, I agree with the sentiment around here. If there ever was a time where Pochettino should publicly go out and dismiss any rumours it's now. We have some very important months coming up next early next year and an unsettled manager / squad is excactly what do not need.

This is the biggest concern, the England speculation completely derailed that season.

Hopefully Poch is able to talk this down today. Even if he does, it won't stop the media entirely, especially if sources out of Utd suggest he is number one choice. Plus there will be sections of the media keen to try and destabilise Spurs if we continue to compete.
