I can only see Poch leaving for a "bigger club" when(if) he wins trophy's with us. He would need to arrive with more than just 'potential" as his main talent. Of course, the pressure would be on him immediately and a sacking from UTD won't do you any favours, its career threatening. Levy gives him a much easier way he just needs backing with transfers. In an odd way I think he likes the challenge at Spurs and the free rein levy gives him.
I get the feeling the only trophies Pochettino sees as a marker of success are the Premier League and Champions' League - whilst winning a League or FA Cup of course is an honour, he's made it pretty clear that that doesn't define a good manager and isn't a great marker of success, which I agree with.

He wants to get Spurs to a position where we are competing for and winning the title (and going far into the CL). But if he doesn't see this as a realistic prospect at Spurs (finance, ethos, structure or ambition) he will leave.

He is the one they want. They will push for him as hard as they possibly can.

It will take Poch himself not wanting to go there to avoid it happening.

Regardless of whether they have any chance of getting Poch (and I don't think they do), Utd will take every opportunity to rock the boat for us. They're still in with a good shout at CL qualification so it's nailed on they'll be stirring the shit for all they're worth.

I'm not the biggest fan of Ally Gold, but he makes a very good point here..very good.

I don't think Poch is going - but, he would have a much easier job shaping United than he will at Spurs. United will always have a bigger budget - and while Poch may not need to spend it all every year - its nice to know you can constantly refresh with a key player or 2, without worrying about the budget.

I wouldn't be surprised if Zidane is actually their prefered candidate.
This felt to me like Mourinho vs Pogba and given other players were unhappy too (like Martial), the board may feel that a manager like Zizou would appeal to the french connection.

That said, only a fool wouldn't believe that Poch isn't very high on their list.

Would’ve it of not made sense to keep mourinho then until the summer rather than fuss about with an interim, then? Unless they had a genuine fear of them being relegated, of course ....!

Yes, unless of course they see it as restructuring internally for the benefit of the new man coming in.

Either way Poch can put this to bed pretty quickly, any clever answers it will be obvious.

Sometimes it's about what you don't say etc.

Would be a bit hypocritical of him to flaunt himself to United now considering how he dealt with Walker and Toby.

He’s a man of principles integrity and honesty. I think we’ll be ok

I don't think this is true - they are 11 points adrift of 4th place (13 behind Spurs) - but more importantly, they would have to pass 2 of Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal. Its one thing to make up 11 points on a single team, its much harder to do that against 2 teams.

Its not impossible - but it will be a very difficult task.

So if Manure were going to bring in say Zidane or even Conte why wouldnt they bring them in now - given they are jobless? This does point to them wanting Poch although it could be because both say Conte and Zidane dont want to take over mid season when theyre in a precarious position. Although it would make sense coming in now and get your feet under the table for the next six months.

Before GBGBGBGBGBGBGBGGBGBGB suggests im melodramatic ;) im not and I dont think Poch will go but there will be no doubt that they will 'tap' Poch up... Levy needs to tell them to fuck off and needs to back Poch hard.

If the fans turn on the team and manager things can go south pretty rapidly, and they then run the risk of no Europe, which could see them drop off the top of the rich list ;)

Honestly, I hope United work themselves up, with everyone convincing themselves that Poch is the only candidate that will work - and then Poch turns them down.

That way, whomever follows will not only be compared to SAF, but also to Poch. Fans will never be satisfied...

It's been blatantly obvious for a while that Mourinho was going to get the push. Perhaps that's why we've been hearing good things from JJ? Hopefully, Levy know what he has to do to keep Poch.

I hope so! It’s going to be along six/seven months if it takes that long for them to appoint a new manager

There's a lot of mention of people underestimating how big a pull the Man Utd job is, but maybe we are just as guilty of underestimating how good a job Poch already has (and has the potential to get even better)?

Class players that will run through walls for him (who are starting to be paid properly), unbelievable stadium and training facilities, CL football, London based, £8m+ a year. Not only that but the fans adore him and he has a real chance of leaving a legacy.

Is Utd worth walking out on what he's worked so hard on building here for? Only Poch will know, but I wouldn't be so sure...

Yes the last transfer window was a farce, and Levy needs to loosen the strings going forward, but transfers aren't everything, certainly for someone like Poch.

Well we'll soon know if he's head has been turned if tomorrow at training he is taking the youth session :D

I read all the same posts this summer about the transfer budget and that it was now or never to back Poch.
