I'd love us to sign Brooks (and I was against Grealish and Maddison). He's a genuinely high quality prospect with excellent footballing vision and creativity.

He's brillant. Put in my fantasy team months ago!

He'll be worth 50 million this time next season so wouldnt surprise me if we bid
30 million for him.

Only upside with this guy.

He has a bit of Eriksen, Dele and Lamela in him. But quicker across the grass than all of them.

Just joined Bournemouth. They're not notorious sellers of their best talent and lately when people have called they've quoted premium sums for above average players. I like Brooks but if we really wanted him the time was last summer, not this one and I would be shocked if he left this January. Bournemouth have about 85 players in their squad and they just got Solanke on loan so I imagine they're bracing themselves for some attacking to leave but I don't think it will be Brooks.

The cheapest we'd get Brooks for is £40-45m. Personally, I think that he's worth it.

Effectively same move we made with Sanchez. We don’t have to worry about minutes or a loan if we cherry pick the lower teams’ rising stars. Bayern have been doing it for years in the Bundesliga.

Hudson-Odei is valued at £35m-£40m so Brooks at that price is going rate and cheap really as he is playing every week in the epl and flourishing.

I live in Sheffield, he's rated as Walker and Naughton were. Very Highly.

He looks a great player and Poch could do wonders with him.

I think he should be one of the first names we look at. He was at City's academy for 10 years, so hopefully that will rule out United if they try for him.

First names we look at when? Why are we discussing a 6th option AM for 45mil?

If Eriksen goes would this be the replacement? Is that the thinking?

You can't replace Eriksen.

Now I have said that, you can moan some more. Enjoy!

No moaning, just genuinely curious as to the line of thinking.

I thought we were buddies now?!
I'd love a name that we've been linked to that could 'replace' Eriksen. I don't see many names. Brooks wouldn't be a 'replacement' for Eriksen though, that's for sure.

Great player but too expensive for us because he would cost money. Think we will look for acceptable release clauses, transfer listed players (similar to Moura) and players at the end of their contract. Maybe we get one expensive HG signing but I think we are looking at Championship/League one for that (Bowen, Maja and Aarons). Depends on how much we get for Eriksen I guess.

If we had signed him he would be ahead of Lamela for me in terms of team selection. One of the stand out players in the teams below the top 6. Way better than Maddison and much less hype because he is Welsh not English.

Think it’s totally nuts that we are now contemplating signing him. We would have had to pay the ‘Spurs Price’ last summer rather than the Bournemouth one but it would still be a fraction of his worth 7 months later. Someone in the scouting department seriously needs shooting.

To be clear I like him also but it seems crazy.

If West Ham are being quoted 60-70 for Wilson , then brooks will probably be in the same bracket, I reckon.

I’d pay it. For me he is clearly a better player than Davinson Sanchez and we happily (?) paid 40 million or so for him.
