Who do you feel has been overlooked @teok ? It’s hard tbf. You’re always going to leave out about 20 or so players who deserve to be in there.

Won't. :D

Anyway, that team should obviously be Maro and 14 other blokes.

You’re being mischievous. I take it you find it amusing that I’ve singled out 1 of the 2 Englishman in the team but I’d also take out Warburton and Lydiate no doubt.

You’re an old fucker who’s played, and I assume, watched rugby throughout your life so you must e been mesmerised watching Sella over the years.

Personally I’d have O’Driscoll in there too but then you’re missing some giants of the game like Nonu, Umanga and Horan

And I didn’t even mention Jamie Roberts and Scott Gibbs. Lol

Screw Barrett, Dan Carter and Wilkinson for number 10. Barry John all the way motherfuckers.

With Phil Bennett on the bench obviously

For me the choice would honestly be totally impossible. Back in the day I didn't watch nearly enough southern hemisphere rugby to make an educated assessment and I'd be biased towards those players I did see. (Plus Campese was a **** and I don't care how gooed [he thinks] he was.)

And how do you compare the amateur players with the professionals. How good would Barry John have been with today's training methods? And how much depends on the quality of the rest of the team around someone?

Talking of Barry John, I couldn't even pick the best Welsh #10 of all time, let alone a whole world team!

Edit: And that was written before reading your post above!

Yeah I totally agree with that. Tbh, there’s a very good case to not pick any player in his prime prior to 1995 really. You also have to consider that there were far less international games back in the day. Barry John hardly had any caps for Wales but was infamous on that 71 lions tour obviously. Phil Bennet, as good as he was, would’ve got fucking ruined if he was playing today. He never liked the defensive side of the game back in the day so you can imagine what he would’ve been like now.

I think a lot of old heads in the front row could still throw it about like your Du Randt’s, Keith Woods, Sean Fitzpatricks, Jason Leonard’s but even then you look to your Franks, Taylor’s, Marx’s etc and think , shit, these boys are next level in terms of physicality.

It’s just a bit of fun I just treat it as what 15 individuals do I like the best. For example, the back row of Hill, Back and Daialligo was one of the best, if not the best, unit of all time but I’m a bigger fan of other individual players like Brooke, McCaw , Tipuric and Hooper.

You’re right though, it’s basically impossible and if I was trying to do it as seriously as possible the majority of my players would be 21st century with the odd golden oldie in there.

And no English, obviously.

I think my backs would be

9 Edwards
10 Carter
11 Lomu
12 Sella
13 O’Driscoll
14 Ioane
15 Cullen

Cullen over Folau is probably not the right move and regardless of how much of a prick Campese was/is he was an unbelievable player. Christian Cullen was a hero of mine though so he’s in.

Well this is some thing.

An all time XV made up purely of All Blacks would smash that side to bits. In fact an all time second XV made up from purely all blacks would run it close!

What about that Exeter v Northampton game. Great for the neutral (and saint fan obviously)

That Dan Biggar Guy looks a half decent player.

I’m watching Scarlets v Dragons at the moment and Ken Owens is playing number 8. Ken fucking Owens. Possibly the most random thing I’ve ever seen.

What the fucking fuck. I watched that Bath V Wasps game to see Faletau’s first game back and he was immense, like he’d never been away and now it turns out he broke his arm. I swear he didn’t get subbed off or nothing. Fucking bullshit.

I guess he’ll be well rested for the WC as it’s not a bad break (probably a small fracture) as the BBC say 8 weeks but now he’s just going to have the warm up games. Hopefully will be enough I guess if that game was anything to go by he’ll be fine but not good for our 6N obviously.

Lots of injuries at the minute.
