Maybe, but there is a genuine chance that Brighton could get through to the semi finals which is that weekend. Suddenly you’re a BHA fan I guess. Replay against West Brom.
Firstly I'm hoping for Doncaster to beat Palace, but I hadn't considered the Brighton side of things. It's the hope that kills you, so they say.

Probably no way we can open vs Arsenal so I’d guess it’ll be April if at all this season

I’m not convinced that it can’t be against Arsenal. Why can it be against Liverpool but not Arsenal? Any trouble always happens away from the ground anyway. I think if it’s ready to go DL will push for it to open then regardless of opponent. The police can vet the stadium beforehand and the area is the same area so why would the police block it. It could be journalists shit stirring and adding to the doubt around the opening date.

Maybe with sufficient test events in Feb they could open for the Arsenal game or even a midweek game against Palace (if that game gets moved). I guess it all comes down to the preparation. I mean if we host a 50k test event we should be able to plan for a 62K one after. I would prefer a weekend one for that first game though, even if it's the NLD which is an early kick off (I'm sure everyone would get up nice and early though anyway). It's getting to that point where they either just open as soon as it's ready or they may as well just leave it until next season. Although we do have 4 home games in April and May so maybe it is worth it I dont know.

I fail to see how the police could block it if it has passed all the tests etc. We will play Arsenal there next season and Chelsea and everyone else. We prob won’t challenge the police so it won’t happen unfortunately.
The safety aspect gets abused sometimes as in Arsenal cutting away supporters for cup games based on the fact that away fans will stand on the upper tier which happens all over the place.

There's an article that appeared on the Mail site a couple of days ago about the Met apparently not wanting the Arsenal game to be the opener: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...dRF6Ks24mF-gkI-3fJP2geLpAn3ytsy2NTnGB3CpTfPlw

"The next available opportunity to open the ground would be against arch-rivals Arsenal on March 2 - a potential date that has not been officially ruled out.

But Spurs will now not be moving into their new ground until mid-March at the absolute earliest after the north London derby was discounted as a potential opening date.

Metropolitan Police chiefs do not want the first full capacity event at the new White Hart Lane to be against the Gunners given its classification as a category C fixture, the top security grading given by authorities
."

No idea how true that is of course.

That's OK.
So we do not issue any away tickets. I'm sure we'd fill the ground twice over for that first fixture.
It is unfortunate but safety comes first.

Another big issue is the fact that all the delays caused by the delivery of the stadium will be preoccupying Levy's head come summer time. He won't have so much time to think about transfers. Tough break ahead.

I did research work for NFL a few years back on;

1. If the ground would be suitable due to conflict in fans of football clubs not wanting to attend a Tottenham stadium.
2. Whether a franchise over here would be well supported

On number 2, I personally feel it would fizzle out after a couple of years. It will be seen as a lesser organisation that free agents won't want to join, fans will start to get fed up after the novelty factor has worn out and they've seen their favourite stars a couple of times. Add to that, most of the "real" NFL fans already have a team to support and won't change that based on location, I personally feel it won't work. I certainly expect them to try it but i'm far from convinced it will last.

But you could direct exactly the same argument at current arrangements. It’s not fizzling out if anything it’s getting more and more popular. And you can’t say fans won’t support it, they haven’t had the chance to support a London team. I think people that enjoy the game will keep their original team and adopt London as a 2nd team. Like I did when I lived in Swansea for a bit, when to see Seansea when I wanted to catch a game and couldn’t get to WHL.

No different than how it is in a few current cities. They'll just move it back to the US if it isn't working. US leagues have no problem moving franchises if the cities aren't supporting it. Someone else will take it.

I'm sure this has been addressed, but if so, I've missed it - so indulge me please …

Will having played a 2nd round tie v Dortmund at Wembley commit us to Wembley for the duration of our stay in that competition?

In other words, if we win the Dortmund tie, will we be able to play at the new stadium (assuming it's ready) in the quarterfinals?

Pardon my ignorance.
