Three changes to the team that started against Watford on Wednesday night. Kieran Trippier, Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura come in for Serge Aurier, Danny Rose and Fernando Llorente. Match: ____ English Premier League (EPL) - Day 25

When: ____ Saturday 2nd February 2019

Where: ____ Wembley Stadium

Kick Off: ____ 12:30pm

Referee: ____ + Andre Marriner

Team Form: ___ Spurs LWLLW ___ Newcastle LWWLW ___ All Competitons

Since losing both EPL meetings with Newcastle in the 2015-16 season, we have won each of our last three against the Magpies.

None of our last 20 EPL home games against Newcastle have ended as a draw (12 Wins Spurs, 8 Newcastle)

Newcastle have lost their last 7 visits to Wembley in all competitions since winning the 1955 FA Cup final against Man City - the worst ever losing run by a team at the stadium.

We have lost just one of our our last 26 home EPL games in February (W18 D7), a 0-4 defeat to Manu in 2007.

Newcastle have collected just 12 points in their 21 EPL visits to London (P21, W3, D3, L15), with half of those coming from us (W2 D0 L1).

We have wone our last two EPL games despite having conceding the first goal. We have never won three in a row after conceding first in the EPL.

Victory or defeat would see us set a new EPL recors of most consecutive games without a draw (currently 28).

Newcastle are looking to win consecutive EPL games against "big six" opposition for the first time since December 2015, with the second game in that sequence an away win against us.

Our Son Heung-min has scored 8 goals in his last 9 appearances for us in all competitons.

Salomon Rondon has scored 6 EPL goals this season - twice as many as any other Newcastle player. However the Venezuelan has not scored in consecutive top-flight appearances since September 2016. (Knowing our luck he does it against us!)

If we win this, we will be 2nd for at least 24 hrs. We have to win it first though. Saying that I do feel more confident after the Watford game. COYS!

So glad we're finally playing early and are not one of the last teams to play over the weekend like usual. Can hopefully win and enjoy the rest of the football.

Will be a tough game but honestly if we weren't at Wembley and were actually at a proper home I'd be even more confident. Hopefully we'll go to 4 at the back and see at least 2 of Son, Lamela and Lucas starting. I think we were really lacking firepower with what we went with in the first half against Watford.

I went on Wednesday. And I know it is the end of Jan and it’s normally a bad month. But I can’t understand why more people didn’t make the effort. It’s almost counter intuitive to say I’m not going to Wembley anymore as it’s shit when we are in the position we are in? We need to support this team to the hilt. I hope there are more there tomorrow. As a win will put us in 2nd place. And this team will be buoyed by the win against Man City. So come on you spurs. Let’s do this.

Last season Rondon gave Sanchez a bit of a battering and scored for West Brom . Sanchez should have stopped him. In view of Sanchez recent form prob better with back 4.

I'm calling it now 4 - 1 Tottenham.

Llorente hat-trick
Winks long range strike

Yedlin tap in for Newcastle after a failed corner clearance.

Newcastle are a bogey team for us or it seems like it. Are for me anyway.
Cant get past my birthday years back.
My car broke so had to hire a car. Cant remember how much that was.
Fanny Martins sticks 3 in right in front of my face. Not up the other end but right under my nose. Lost 3.1 I believe.
Get back to car and I have a parking ticket.
Paid that. £40 I think.
Few weeks later car hire company tell me they had to pay a parking ticket, which was late so full whack £100, plus a £30 admin charge. As they had my credit card details the money was just taken, no contesting it.
Tried to get council to sort it as you cant have 2 tickets for same offence. Got fkin nowhere.
Total cost of game, about £270.
Shittest game ever.
Happy fkin birthday.

I hate Newcastle lol.

You mean his excellent performance against Mitrovic who is a similar striker to Rondon?

Sanchez improved as the game went on and he seemed to learn to just do enough and block the ball rather than try wrestle him off the ball. Having said that, Sanchez made the same error against Palace last week. If he's smart and tries to play the ball instead of the shoulder barge he should be okay.

You can bet money that if we are in with a chance of the title with a few games to go, the place will be rammed again.

Come on guys, what are the odds Newcastle will beat Man City and Spurs in the same week?
We got this.

Appreciate what you're saying, but what were the odds Palace and Leicester beat City back to back? It's the Premier League, and nothing is dead certain in this league.

Of course we'd all prefer to start like we did v Chelsea and Cardiff in the league, but I would happily take another scrappy game with a last gasp winner (sorry heart I know you can't take much more, but we wouldn't be Spurs if it was easy). As long as we win, I don't care how the performance is.

How, precisely, am I supposed to rate this, @slartibartfast ? Huh? I'm sat here on the verge of tears! You need to think these things through, FFS!

EDIT: I went with 'Informative'. :cautious:
